South Carolina debate: The view from the bleachers

Charleston, South Carolina (CNN) - On TV, you watch the body language of candidates and wait for the zingers that could tilt your vote a certain way. Or you can just get lost in the pomp of a hall bedazzled by star-spangled ribbons.

But behind the criss-crossed lighting and all the red, white and blue, there's a whole other show you don't see but hear.

I have not been a supporter of Gingrich but his remarks at the start of the debate were excellent. We have seen large ‘vetting squads’ on any and all conserv/rep candidates. We have had speculation and rehashing on mostly personal issues…most of which has turned out to be false. And yet on obama we know nothing. What he did for a living, acorn, his associates, the votes for millions to slumlords which later benefitted him, the non-lobbyist White House where staffers meet with lobbyists from pharmacy, insurance, unions and wall street firms next door to the white house so as to ensure there are no records, the revolving door of staffers to and from wall street, the crony capitalism, the rule by fiat…while we hear banshee screams on personal struggles (mainly innuendo and rumour) on republicans we hear nothing on the deep and total corruption that is occuring in the present administration.

Where have you been when your bunch specially Kenneth Starr was dragging on Clinton? Personal issues. Ha. When it comes to you, you outlandish. Of course, I support. At the same time, when it is uncivil, you need to do the same too....o.k, Press is becoming nasty. o.k,

Why is it that right wngnuts are so out of touch? Is it because the only media they get is foreign owned Fox? fred ca professes to know nothing of our president, yet right wingnuts like fred call him a Muslim, a socialist, a communist, an anti colonialist, criticize his education, call him anti American, call him foreign born, criticize his attempts to turn our republican caused depression around, and most uninformed wingnuts make unsubstantiated charges to see if any lies will stick.

"Vetting sqauads"? Seriously? Palin cost McCain what little chance he had of winning, and fred ca talks about the wonderful job they did of vetting? The clown car of candidates have been the ones throwing the mud about about the personal lives of their own candidates, so please quit screaming about the flase personal issues. Obama has had every aspect of his life put under a microscope, and the charges of corruption are wishful thinking on the part of the Righties because that's how they operated in the last decade. The Right follows the Goebbel's dictum of the Big Lie to a tee, and they can't even admit theya re lying because they ahve invested so much in creating their own alternate reality. Its sad and pathetic

Newt wanted Clinton to be impeach so his ex wife came out and let everybody know how dirty he treat his wives.
Newt is not to be trusted.

Amazing! This President comes in and governs just right of center, right where Regan did. The GOP and their corporate cheerleader Fox news, have spoiled a good opportunity to get this country going. In spite of everything that Obama has done, they continue to spread lies like they are the divine truth. In certain parts of this county. in masses, people are still racist. If Jesus came back to earth today, and he was black, they would rather burn in hell, then go with him. I think a lot of them consider themselves Christians, and not prejudice, but they really are.
