Gingrich wins South Carolina GOP primary, CNN projects; Romney second
Columbia, South Carolina (CNN) - Newt Gingrich has won the South Carolina GOP primary, CNN projects, with Mitt Romney finishing second.
Gingrich's projected victory marks a stunning turnaround for a campaign that observers had left for dead - again - just weeks ago.

Didn't CNN learn from Iowa? Don't declare a winner with 7% of the vote in, particularly when the margin is not that great.
Good job GOP. With Gingrich as the winner, I guess you can officially drop that whole "family values" nonsense.
His win is a real testament to the values in the gop.
And what does one expect from the party of Rush Limpbaugh? If your spiritual leader is a confirmed self-admitted drug addict, why can't your political leader be a confirmed, self-admitted adulterer? All this, and Herman Cain's return, when the Republican Clown Car Show continues.

I think this will be the first time since 1980 that S.C. was Wrong, come November. LOL – Romney will be the winner – these states such as Iowa ( green acres) & N.H. ( Petticoat Junction) & S.C ( Mayberry R.F.D. ) really doesn't matter – they are all farmers in Iowa & all they want is the government to Buy their Corn – for ethanol – and N.H same way – all 3 of those states are mostly white and speak only 1 language – these states are like being in Kindergarten or grade school – wait til they get to Florida & ON, where such as florida speaks 4 languages – and Calif -where there is millions of ppl – and especially Texas – we have 2 or 3 languages we have to hear constantly, ( barely english, in some places) in addition to the fact that we have 28 million people in our state. You know what the old saying is : ""If you can't Run with the Big Dogs, stay on the porch"" or is it "stay Under the Porch" ? Just wait til California / N.Y. and some of the Primaries Day Comes.
Really? What happened to "family values" in a state that prides itself on being predominately evangelical? David Vitter of Louisiana and Newt Gingrich. What happened? Has the party lost it's soul?
The Republicans are scary, no vision, no plan for jobs and housing.
