
Coral Springs, Florida (CNN) - The Newt Gingrich campaign has taken off the air a Spanish-language radio spot not long after an influential Florida senator lambasted the presidential candidate for releasing an "inaccurate" and "inflammatory" ad about Mitt Romney's immigration record.
Florida Republican Sen. Marco Rubio sharply criticized Gingrich Wednesday for running the ad, which calls Romney "the most anti-immigration candidate."

(CNN) - Mitt Romney's campaign took its ongoing attack of rival Newt Gingrich to Nevada Wednesday, slamming the former House speaker for his role advising mortgage giant Freddie Mac in the next battleground in the GOP primary.
The 30-second spot, called "Nevada Families," is similar to an ad that began running Monday in Florida. Both Nevada and Florida have been hit particularly hard by the national housing crisis, with foreclosure rates well above the national average.

Jacksonville, Florida (CNN) - One day before the final GOP presidential debate in Florida, it's all tied up between Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich, according to a new survey.
A CNN/Time/ORC International Poll also indicates that while Gingrich surged following his 12-point victory in Saturday's South Carolina primary, his momentum appears to be quickly cooling off.

Washington (CNN) - Just seconds after an emotional tribute to Arizona Democratic Rep Gabby Giffords in the House of Representatives Wednesday, House Speaker John Boehner - who got a little choked up in the moment - suddenly felt the need to remind members that there's a dress code on the House floor.
Boehner recovered his composure after embracing Giffords, who had just handed him her resignation letter. He looked around the chamber, and announced, "the chair would remind all members to be in proper business attire when you come to the floor of the House."

Miami, Florida (CNN) - In an interview at a Hispanic forum in Miami on Wednesday, Mitt Romney accused Newt Gingrich of making an unfair attack on his immigration stance in a campaign radio ad, saying the ad used "terrible terms" in a manner that was "very sad" and "inappropriate."
Hours before, the Gingrich campaign acknowledged it had stopped running the Spanish language ad, which had referred to Romney as "the most anti-immigrant candidate" and drew censure from Florida Sen. Marco Rubio.

Washington (CNN) – Sen. John McCain tore into Newt Gingrich Wednesday, accusing the former House Speaker of encouraging an explosion of earmarks that ultimately led to corruption in congress and for having a leadership style that would be problematic as president.
"I saw these earmarks explode. I saw the corruption that resulted from it," the former Republican presidential nominee said on a conference call with reporters organized by Mitt Romney's campaign. McCain endorsed Romney after the Iowa caucuses.
