(CNN) - Texas Rep. Ron Paul said his former secretary was wrong when she said in the Washington Post Friday he had personally approved racist newsletters in the 1990s.
"She's made that story up," Paul said on CNN's "John King USA."
"She also said that I was in and out of the office every single day. The office wasn't even in the town that I live so that's completely false reporting. And they should have verified that. Because I think somebody from my staff answered it but that's completely false."

Sure racist Ron.
Ron Paul 2012!!!
Somebody is scrambling away from his past. He's a white supremist and a conspiracy nut, as is most of his supporters. This will not reduce his support one iota.
what a hit job by the post. dozens of former associates say Paul was not in any way responsible for the content. one secretary provides a talking point and it forms the basis of a new smear campaign. doesn't get more biased.
Whether he personally approved all the newsletters in advance or not, he still needs to answer for a newsletter that was published under his name for years that repeatedly included disgusting comments. It stretches believability that he did not know. He never read them? No one who read them ever said anything to him? He didn't feel responsible enough to know the content? Really? Please!
Add to that comments by Gingrich and Santorum... oh yah, Santorum "didn't say black". At least admit it and say it was a mistake. And Gingrich with Spanish as "the language of the ghetto" and "people from very poor (inner city) neighborhoods" who have no one in their communities to serve as models with good "habits of work", so they should be made to clean toilets for their fellow students. Perhaps they can all just go down to Perry's ranch and has a good 'ol boy time.
This confirms thatRon Paul had a good debate last night. The Cochroaches are coming out of the woodwork to smear him
Throwing the secretary (to whom you probably paid slave wages) under the bus, eh? Stay classy, Mr. Paul.
I wonder how much CNN paid that secretary to make that story up.
RON PAUL for president 2012!!!
please give me a break! does anyone really believe ron paul knew nothing of these racist newletters, written in his voice, with his name atop each page? i used think that at least he wasn't a habitial liar like all the other gop candidates, but he is lying about this and it's embarrasig to see. don't be fooled, young people! he's a quack just like newt.
No part of Ron Paul's mode of operation suggests he is racist. Everything he has ever done or said promotes complete individualism. Freedom and Liberty for all no matter what you look like. Demogogue: Some one who illicits passion to rile people up. That is why this issue gets to people. Demogogues know that all you have to do is imply racism and people will side with you. Nobody wants to be "FOR" racism so you call a man a racist and most people will run from him.
The anarchist needs better structure in his organization. That's ironic!
Frankly I dont care what he said/wrote 20 years ago unless it compared with his current last 5 years record on any subject fairly and properly......have you Mr King never changed your mind on anything in the past 20 years.
25 years ago Dr Martin Luther King was DELIVERING HIS I HAVE A DREAN SPEECH. that changed a lot of people minds perhaps yours included.
The actual today environment and recent views in " a significantly changed environment) c/f that 20 years ago are more important.
CNN have raked this up several times and it is just scandal for the sake of scandal not relevent to the man today.
Time to move on.
Regards,
Hodgson.
I can't believe this is still worth reporting. The quotes they are talking about are hardly even worth mentioning, let alone bringing up over and over. Even if he had actually wrote them, we've let much worse slide. Robert Byrd remained a Democratic Senator until the day he died in 2010 despite being a member of the KKK when he was young. As a Senator he wrote horrific diatribes on race, and continued to make racist remarks publicly well into his 80s. If that is acceptable for a US Senator, I think we can deal with Ron Paul NOT WRITING a couple racially insensitive remarks 20 years ago and then disavowing them over and over when it was brought to his attention.
►Ron Paul: Report on newsletters 'completely false'
That’s why I met with LePage today – needed a few tips from the boss
on how to handle the racist accusations and still come out on top
I mean, we have our values and must stick together; I can’t afford to drop!
(but you will)
Obama 2012
The MSM , Romney, and Gingrinch need to lay off of Dr. Paul and let him run they are just tools of the AIPAC run media machine. Anything that the MSM can do to ruin him is just so plain desperate.
You can call Paul all the names in the book you want, but you can never call him a Liar, and you most definitely can not call him a racist. I think there's a correlation between the negative comments, and "former secretary."
Ron Paul is a racsist that profit off those "John Birch Society" talking points. Ron Paul hates the Civil Right Act and voted against MLK Day.
From one of Dr. Paul's books – It's dangerous to craft a separate set of rights for groups like Hispanics, African-Americans, children, employees and the homeless.
I would really like to know why someone with such little empathy for others, particularly children and the homeless, ever went into medicine. He may have a few good ideas, but his abject lack of compassion is not a trait that is becoming to a president.
Obama 2012
They're trying too make him stupid, becouse they see other way of getting rid of him. Seems like someone is afraid of freedom.
Ron Paul 2012.
We are really still on this... this is in the latest news section? this news is 20 years old. How about actually doing your jobs and reporting him in the same way you are Romney and Gingrich. FAIR AND BALANCED
I like this dude. Only he is too old. that scares me.
