Axelrod: Romney is a 'weak frontrunner'

(CNN) - President Barck Obama's senior campaign strategist David Axelrod downplayed Mitt Romney's Florida primary win on Wednesday, repeatedly calling the former Massachusetts governor a "weak frontrunner."

"It was a tactical victory, I’m not sure it added to his luster as a potential leader of the country," Axelrod said on CNN's "John King, USA."

I think he is out of touch with the average American, he would be good for really rich, but the poor and middle class would be on their own.

Well, last time I checked, we have a weak President. So that little attack is moot.

I agree, Mr. Romney may have won the battle, but he did not win the war. The 2 "not Romney" candidates garnered more votes, turnout was down, Romneys favorables are dropping like a rock and his party is still looking for a plan B candidate, he's weak.

    Hi Axelrod –

Stop calling Romney "potential leader of the country". Indeed, give him a little credit for all the cynical efficiency with
which he is eliminating his competitors. And don't remind anybody how much deadly damage he is doing to the GOP.
The "intelligent" part of the GOP is painfully aware of that. Let him have a bit of wind in his sails until he gets the
nomination. Then – and only then – comes the time to take him down, as he runs full speed over the edge in november –
like the lemmings on the south coast of Iceland.

Are you running scared that Mitt is out in front.

I think a everyone knows your days are numbered and Obama will not win another four years doesn't deserve it.

Four and out get someone who can lead this country not bring it down to it's knees like Obama is doing.

Romney is the presidential leader the usa needs to pull out of the finnancial crisis..also to turn back the americans jobs and keep the usa economy back to the aaa credit. Americans can't forget that under obama by first time in history the usa credit was downgraded. If obama is re-elected, all credit firms will downgrade the usa credit in years to come,!...obama want to see the usa as a third world country....

Romney has given no clear way of paying for his ideas to increase defense spending, create jobs and balance the budget. The magic of tax cuts didn't work under bush and is amajor contributor to the current debt and deficits. Lets be clear the Bush tax cuts are $450bn of a $1.1 tr deficit., and he want to reduce taxes further.
So the deficit increases. Then you have only spending to aim at and look how the pundits are criticising europe for its austerity policies as a killer of growth... which is how Romney says he will balance the budget via growth.
    Regards,
    Hodgson.

All the GOP candidates are pathetic But so are the intelligence levels and hearts of a disturbing number of US citizens. Ordinarily, Obama should be a shew-in. But with your weak-minded electorate blinded by prejudices of all kinds, there is no telling what can happen. So all the intelligent among you had better vote!

    Axelrod is right !

Instead of going into the military , Mitt went on a mission to France.

Mitts five sons avoided military service in a time of war.

    WEAK IS RIGHT !

    ►Axelrod: Romney is a 'weak frontrunner'◄
And on a "drumline" he will be a poor drummer
So in my opinion he should take a sail up the river
Because in November he will end up "chopped liver"
