How Romney won Florida's Latino vote

Miami (CNN) - As Mitt Romney dominated the Florida Republican primary Tuesday night, he also captured the bulk of the votes from Latinos in the state, with 54% of their ballots. But how did he pull that off?

His victory could be seen as somewhat surprising for a candidate with a tough stance on immigration, who promised that if he were president, he'd veto the Dream Act that would legalize young undocumented adults who came to the United States as children if they attend college, join the armed forces or meet other requirements.

Senate Democrats Unveil Buffett Bill

Washington (CNN) - Senate Democrats formally unveiled legislation Wednesday to ensure that all millionaires would pay a minimum federal tax of 30 percent.

The legislation comes as the relatively low tax rate for some high earners –like investor Warren Buffett and GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney– takes center stage in both the policy and political arenas in Washington.

Wall Street bets big on Romney

Washington (CNNMoney) - Wall Street has thrown its weight behind alum Mitt Romney for president, according to new campaign data for 2011.

But the industry hasn't totally abandoned President Obama, who in 2008 raised more money from the financial industry than any other candidate in history, according to two watchdog groups.

Santorum goes after Gingrich in new ad

(CNN) - In a new national radio ad released Wednesday, Rick Santorum lambasted Newt Gingrich over the former House speaker's declining poll numbers and second place finish in Florida's primary.

"Despite spending millions, Newt Gingrich went from a big lead to a big defeat. Why? Because voters discovered Gingrich wasn't a true conservative," the narrator says in the ad.

For Romney, all that glitters is not confetti

Eagan, Minnesota (CNN) - Mitt Romney sparkled as he took the stage in Eagan, Minnesota, the day after a blowout victory in Florida's primary.

But the glint in Romney's hair and on his blazer wasn't a post-victory glow. Instead, the GOP candidate was dusted in glitter thrown by a young male protester before Romney took the stage.

Concessions complicated in contentious campaigns

(CNN) – Dealt a thorough thumping on election night thirty years ago, George McGovern didn't pick up the phone to concede the race to Richard Nixon – instead, the South Dakota senator sent the incumbent president a telegram.

The cordial concession call is as much political tradition as it is campaign stagecraft, a pleasantry otherwise sparse in campaigns, such as this Florida's contest, rated the most negative ever in a campaign advertisement analysis. But on Tuesday night, the call for Florida victor Mitt Romney didn't come, at least from one candidate.

STOCK ACT to stop insider trading

Washington (CNN) – The president will not oppose a Republican-proposed change to the STOCK Act (Stop Trading on Congressional Knowledge), a senior administration official tells CNN. The bill would make clear that insider trading of stocks and other securities by members of Congress, their spouses and staffs are illegal.

Republicans like Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) and House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA) are pushing for the bill to apply to the executive branch as well.
