McDonnell open to spot as GOP running mate

(CNN) - Republican Gov. Bob McDonnell of Virginia, who recently threw his support behind Mitt Romney, said Thursday he would consider a vice presidential run should he be offered the spot.

"I'm chairman of the Republican Governors Association so I want to win lots of Republican governors races this year, but if somebody called me, I'd sure think about it," McDonnell said.

The Republican presidential candidates have used character assination on each other and revealed, in detail , that none are qualified to be President. Why would Gov. McDonnell want to hitch his star to any of these candidates? My guess is the Republican debates were supposed to allow the candidates to express their opinions and to answer questions but that is not how things worked out. All they did was show total lack of character and self respect by their desperate attempts to hurt each other. It was totally disgusting. Obama in 2012.

PAH-Leezzzzzeeeee!!! Don't base it on the fact that Romney will win Virginia – the ONLY other candidate against him is Ron Paul!!! Oh how I wish Democrats can vote in this primary – we will all vote for Ron Paul!!!

MdDonnell is in for a rude awakening come November, 2012. We are coming out like we did in 2008 and a lot of Democrats will win – we must integrate our house.

    Obama 2012!!! Kaine 2012!!!

As a resident of Virginia I must say that I'm mighty proud to have Bob McDonnell as our Governor, we haven't had a better one in my life time. But I ashamed that he put his money behind Mitt Romney, I'd rather he supported Ron Paul.

I am a second generation Virginian. This guy has done a below average job as Governor. It is important to know that a Va. Governor can ONLY serve ONE term – 4 yrs., so re-election is not an issue. He has been all about forcing a personal pro-life agenda, and has cut education to the bone. He is concerned with nothing but himself.

Good grief. There isn't even a nominee yet, and we are already hearing "pick me! pick me!". I really don't care about your resume for a position that isn't even open yet.

This mcdonnell is trying to let the South rise again. Just think of what he and his minions have done in VA since he was elected.
He might bring in the backwoods rednecks but he is going to turn off everyone else who doesn't think that slavery is not a horrible thing.

Virginia, get educated, do not vote any of these GOP thugs, in this nation. They ruined this nation to the ground just like "Ground Zero". God bless.

Last year during the debt increase crisis the VA GOV was willing to let fed GOV shut down until he found that when the fed GOV's credit rating is lowered so will be VA' rating be lowered. At this point he turned a 180 and was all in favor of raising the debt ceiling.
Like Romney, his positions are not base on what he believes to be right or wrong but what is best for how he looks.
