Gingrich will try to reset strategy

(CNN) - Newt Gingrich is expected to emphasize a more positive message Saturday following his second straight loss.

Gingrich has been meeting with his staff in the last two days and is aiming to reset his campaign strategy and message going forward, sources tell CNN.

The campaign staff and Gingrich also have discussed a path to help them accumulate delegates, signaling they still intend to stay in the primary race until the Republican convention in Tampa.

The discussions among the campaign staff occurred in Las Vegas and spanned Friday and Saturday. Part of the discussions also centered on how Gingrich should change his message.

Gingrich could signal some of his strategy shift in a Las Vegas news conference Saturday evening following his loss in the Nevada caucuses.

In an interview with CNN, Gingrich's daughters discussed some of the efforts to reset the campaign.

"We have been spending some of our time thinking ahead, planning our time," Jackie Cushman said.

Kathy Lubbers added: "We are working towards being in Tampa. This is a fluid race," she said, adding "We are here to stay."

Asked what Gingrich will announce Lubbers would only say "You should stay tuned."

One participant described Gingrich as "fired up" during Friday's meeting.

"I can tell you there's a plan all the way to Tampa," this source said of the strategy sessions. "We're going to play strategically and will have resources ... We are going to win."

As for the new "positive" message, that's quite the pivot from Friday when Gingrich harshly criticized Mitt Romney.

The Daily Beast first reported some details of the campaign shift.

what just happened with Newt press conferance? He started by saying he was going to be more positive, however, could not have been more negative.
Newt's just angry someone exposed all his lies that he's been talking about in his speeches earning hundreds of thousands of dollars and in selling books. His motivation for staying in the race is two-fold, to punish Romney for calling him out on his revisionist history and his out and out lies: and to be the president of the best debater of the United State of America

So Gingrich will reset his campaign strategy. Let's see. First it was negative. Then it was positive. That didn't work, so he changed to negative. That worked in South Carolina, but hasn't worked since. So, now he's back to positive. When that doesn't work, maybe he will go neutral? He flip-flops on strategy and policy pronouncements as often as Romney.

Mitt has won in the North, the South and now the West. Newt is one bitter puppy. Newt is scaring off supporters faster

than a drunk finishes of a six pak.

I think they may have already determined they're not going to overtake Romney, so their strategy may now be to try and divide and rupture the party so badly that Mitt doesn't come out very far ahead, and Obama ends up getting elected for another four years. This way, if things go further south in Obama's second term, they'll be able to run against a fresh set of candidates, rather than trying to unseat "President Romney". Look how much trouble the Dems are having with Obama: I hear rumblings that they're not too happy with some of his decisions, that they're actually too conservative for what the far left base wants, but they're not really opposing him at all. Kinda wonder what would happen if someone did.

I love the new positive Newt! This new positivity will really bring the voters out, especially calling people liars, blaming debate wins on gimicks and blaming Mitt's strong performance in Nevada on what Newt called a very Mormon state (7% Mormon). I really think Romney's win can be blamed on better ideas, better credentials, stronger campaign and really good hair.

As a candidate Gingrich is probably second only to Romney as a flip-flopper. He even flip-flops on how to run his campaign. First he is a traditional candidate, then a positive big ideas guy, then a mean and nasty bar fighter and now he is going to be what? Positive again? He can't even run a campaign let alone the country.

Leroy is only staying in this until super tuesday. He wants to show the world the real Leroy. His language is going to change dramatically. He is going to speak with racial tones. He is going to speak the language that southern idiots understand. Tenn,Ms,Ala,Ga,La,Ark,and Tx those are his people. It amazes me that these are some of the poorest people in America and they consistantly vote for the repubs and get nothing in return.

I think Newt is picking up momentum, he truly wants to stay positive, but he can go negative too and defeat Mitt at his own game. I am seeing a Paul/Gingrich ticket, with Paul agreeing on only one term on account of his age. This is what my insiders have told me. Of course they will tell you something altogether different. Cause you are not in the loop.

The Newtster is desperate. Maybe he can get Trump to have another news conference and tell everyone he really, really, really, really endorses Mitt. That is if The Donald can take time away from his relentless investigation looking for Obama's great hoax of not being a U.S. citizen. Keep at it Donald. I'm sure all the remaining clown parade hopefuls are just dying for you to step up to the microphone and try to get some attention again. Better yet, why don't you just fire the four losers left in the clown parade and put them out of their misery.

Why has no one asked the Newt why he accepts $100,000 every year from the taxpayers for his "pension" while he is off making millions selling his influence...sorry, I meant, in the private business sector...while attacking the lazy food stamp layabouts in the same breath? Bloody hypocrite, blowhard gas-bag. Then he attacks the "metro-riding" elitists, i.e. New Yorkers (who pay more taxes than Newt does), people who don't feed the big oil companies because we take...gasp...public transportation...what could be less American??? What a bloody crock of...

Gingrich is a class act calling Romney after all of Romney's wins. Wait a minute he didn't? Never mind then.

"My this man [Newtmare] is sick in the head!!!!"

He certainly suffers from delusions of grandeur, is a narcissist and is pretty darn petty and nasty, to boot. His mother had bipolar disorder; I'm thinking he's mentally ill, too. (And I'm not being snarky; his behavior and words of late really seem to indicate he's mentally ill.)

You have to be an idiot to vote for grinch or the idiot romney who ran mass into the ground and couldn't get relected gov of mass. Remember the big dig in Boston started at 1.5 billion but ended up costing 14.5 billion dallars. His friends made billions off it. That's why the disk drives disappeared. Just another republican crook.
