(CNN) – A conservative group is seizing on the anniversary of the late President Ronald Reagan's birthday to contrast his past comments with those of President Barack Obama.
The minute-long spot from Americans for Prosperity, which will air Monday on national cable, plays comments from the two presidents back-to-back in an effort to explain their "two visions for America," according to the organization.

"We've been a little bit lazy I think over the last couple of decades," Obama says in the spot before Reagan says, "Trust that American spirit, it's still there, ready to blaze in the light."
The ad, part of a roughly $230,000 buy from the grassroots organization, ends with a message to the "Gipper," who would have been 101 Monday.
"Happy Birthday, President Reagan," the ad reads. "We miss your optimism. Your love of America."

Trickle-down economics; the teory that basically says that because the poor get the table scraps from the rich, the best way to fight poverty is to give the rich a bigger meal.
Once again, the President is taken out of context. To be fair, Romney was taken out of context recently with his comment about the poor. However Pres. Obama, wasn't talking about the American People; he was talking about businesses. I swear, the President has been one of the most disrespected presidents in U.S. History. I hope he and the Democrats wipe the floor of the Republicans, Fox News, the Tea Party, and all of them in November...Obama/Biden, 2012!
I suggest everyone read"The Myths Of Reaganomics" by Murray N. Rothbard.Therein lies the real truth about "The Gipper".
1) I voted for Reagan but the man was not perfect (Iran/Contra)(Trickle Down Economics) and he has passed on. 2) Reagan could not be elected in todays GOP they have moved from their platform of a small strong central government and via GWBush expanded the size of deficit (non funded/borrowed from China) and expanded the size of government (Homeland Security.) GWBush/Cheney/Rove left the GOP central platform for a pre-emptive war monied plutocracy. 4) I was a Republican for 35 years voted for Geo Bush I but GWBush was the end of the line for me. I am now an Independent and see Romney (parroting GWBush policies) and Norquist (anti-American) as dangerous to America. Reagan has passed and he has zero to do with today's GOP.
President Reagan believed in nuclear nonproliferation, START Treaty, and shared sacrifice of millionaires paying a fair share in comparison with the less fortunate...just like President Obama
Not Romney

Is Ronnie running for President again...........................?

Not exactly, they are RINOs, Reagan In Name Only. They're actually Bush administration retreads and reruns.
American - President Reagan believed in shared sacrifice of millionaires paying a fair share in comparison with the less fortunate...just like President Obama

"There you go again...." Reagan was a real leader. How dare you compare him to Obama. The only former president Obama has anything in common with is JIMMY CARTER! Both incompetent one-termers.
We need another president that had the vision and policies that Reagan espoused,in the White House today instead of the weak leader we have in Obama.
Hmmm. So Karl Rove thinks that Mitt Rmoney will be the the next guiding light to Ronald Reagan's shinning city on the hill?
Wishing Rove luck getting Mitt past go and selling it to the regular folks come November.
Nothing like the mention of Reagan to make more democrats run out and vote for Obama. The only thing Reagan did well was RUN UP OUR NATIONAL DEBT and those are the FACTS.
None of the republican candidates are liek Reagan and for the party to think is a lie. Besides, how many of today's voters even remember him? These candidates are trying to appease the extreme wing of the party which just so happens to have the most negative view from independants like myself. To try and please the Tea Party is a sure way to lose the election.
(Not) Truth,
There you go again denying the truth...
Romney has been against Preisident Obama's START Treaty, which was practically the same as President Reagan. Romney has been against millionaires sharing sacrifice with increased taxes, which both President Obama and Reagan advocated.
A B-Rate actor and a terrible president. Please refrain from trying cannonize him. I do realize that he is the best the GOP can do, but that really does not say much now does it?
Americans for Prosperity = Koch Brothers, so naturally they take the President's words out of context and try to promote a mythical past that only existed in Republicans' minds.
Happy Brithday President Reagan....we also miss the higher tax rates you put in place on the wealthy and corporations....Tea Party groups put their hands over their ears and ignore those facts.
the truth is Reagan was terribly bad president in History.....

Polly want a cracker? You parrot Fox News false talking points ad nauseum.
Saying that Americans have become lazy (in working to attract foreign visitors and corporations to this country) is not wrong. It is just an opinion. Republicans believe that "American exceptionalism" is a birthright. Obama is saying that Americans have to work for it.
Thank you Reagan for trickle down economics that led to the Corporate surge of our jobs to other nations. Thank you Boehner for continually pushing the very concept that has brought us to a ntion of Kings and Serfs.
Thank you Obama for the push to expire the Bush Tax Cuts.
Obama is not Reagan on any level using his name in the same sentence with Reagan is a joke
