(CNN) - Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer was robbed last week by an intruder armed with a machete while Breyer was vacationing on the Caribbean island of Nevis, court officials said Monday.
Breyer, his wife and two other guests were in the justice's vacation home at the time, but officials said no one was hurt in the incident.
FULL STORYWashington (CNN) - Cast aside the drama (exciting as it is) of the GOP nomination and you get to the truth: it still comes down to cold, hard delegate numbers. By CNN's estimates, Mitt Romney has a commanding early lead, despite wins and second places by all three of his opponents.
So, let's be realistic. Is there a feasible path for a non-Romney to win? "There is," said Sean Trende, senior analyst for Real Clear Politics. "It's a very narrow path but it's starting to shape up that way."
What is that path? Listen to our American Sauce podcast here. Or keep reading.

Washington (CNN) - The race for the Republican presidential nomination appears to be all tied up between former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and former Sen. Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania, according to two new national surveys.
The latest edition of the Gallup Daily Tracking poll, released Monday afternoon, indicates that 32% of registered Republicans say they are backing Romney for their party's nomination, with Santorum at 30%, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich at 16% and Rep. Ron Paul of Texas at 8%. Romney's two point margin over Santorum is well within the survey's sampling error.

Washington (CNN) - A piece of advice: If you're worried about President Barack Obama's budget, find something else to fret over. The president's blueprint has about as much chance of becoming law as yours. It's all about election year 2012, not fiscal year 2013.
Don't take my word for it. Take Harry Reid's. The Senate majority leader - the Democrat most responsible for moving Obama's agenda through Congress - said Friday that there's no need to bring the budget to a vote this year.
FULL STORYWashington (CNN) - First lady Michelle Obama is a popular American political figure, even more so than her husband. Her name, face and stories of her influence behind the scenes are a constant in the media, and sometimes in not so flattering words and images.
In books, she is portrayed as battling with White House insiders. In magazines, she has been satirized as a militant activist. On TV, she responds to those who see her as an "angry black woman."
FULL STORYWashington (CNN) - Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell chided Rick Santorum on Monday for expressing concerns about women serving in military combat roles.
Santorum told CNN last week that having women on the front lines could lead to a "compromising situation where people naturally may do things that may not be in the interest of the mission because of other types of emotions that are involved."

New York (CNNMoney) - President Obama unveiled a $3.8 trillion budget request Monday that hikes taxes on the rich, spends new money on infrastructure and education, but does little to reform the entitlement programs that pose the biggest long-term threat to the federal budget.
"We built this budget around the idea that our country has always done best when everyone gets a fair shot, everyone does their fair share and everyone plays by the same rules," Obama said in his budget message.
FULL STORY(CNN) - It's the state where Mitt Romney grew up and where his father served as governor in the 1960's, but a new poll in Michigan indicates that Rick Santorum is on top in the race for the Republican presidential nomination.
According to an American Research Group survey released Monday, 33% of likely Michigan GOP primary voters say they are backing Santorum, the former senator from Pennsylvania, with 27% supporting Romney, the former Massachusetts governor. Twenty-one percent are backing former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, 12% are supporting Rep. Ron Paul of Texas and 6% are undecided. Santorum's advantage is technically within the poll's sampling error.
