Trump raised "a substantial amount of money for the governor" during an hour of calls, according to his media liaison, Michael Cohen.
Trump considered a presidential bid himself, then endorsed Romney in early February, telling reporters he brought the former Massachusetts governor "a lot of good relationships with a lot of groups."
"If you look at the tea party. If you look at the Christian coalition. If you look at a lot of different groups, I have very, very strong relationships with them," he said.
Cohen told CNN that Trump is "prepared to assist [Romney] in any way the governor sees fit."
"Donald Trump doesn't only come with his larger-than-life persona, he comes [with] his personal relationships, which are substantial and far-reaching," he said.
