Conservatives urge 'immediate' U.S. action on Syria

(CNN) - Prominent U.S. conservatives want the Obama administration to "take immediate action" against the Syrian regime, including "no-go zones" for President Bashar al-Assad's military and "self-defense aid" to resistance forces.

Fifty-six foreign policy experts and former U.S. government officials signed a letter dated Friday calling for proactive U.S.-led steps against the government. It comes as Syrian citizens and activists plead for world powers to help stop the government's bloody crackdown.

Notice how CONservative chicken hawks love starting wars but never put themselves or their family members directly in the firing line. On the other hand, patriotic LIBERALS defend their country, losing lives and limbs – see patriotic Democrats like Max Cleland, Tammy Duckworth, etc.

If these conservatives including Karl Rove are ready to put on uniforms and go and fight in Syria, then they can raise their voices for actions to be taken. If they are not ready, they need to suck it up. No more blood shed of our kids please!

It's the United Nations job to police the world not America! If these for profit War Mongering GOP Republican Tea Bags feel so strongly I'm SURE they have the funds to covertly take whatever action they deem necessary. As for America, we should respect the rulings of the United Nations.

American just wants to bully another country around like they always do. Hey, news flash, worry about American and let the other countries handle there own business.

American has nuclear weapons and yet we try to tell other countries they can not have them. This is B.S. and someone should tell america to stop producing nuclear stuff.

And these were the SAME PEOPLE who were screaming about going in to assist Libya. They said Obama should NOT have assisted and in fact, tried to nail him with the war powers act and its 90 days clause regarding congress. Why is it a problem NOW?

Conservatives wanted immediate action on Libya too, until there was. Then they cried about it.

Hey Conservatives, Congress has the authority to declare war and you control congress with an iron fist. If you want to do something it is your responsibility. So defecate or get off the pot.

It is time for those 56 conservatives to enlist in the Syrian resistance. But, on second thought, they are worthless and would ruin any chances that the resistance might have. Conservatives are so easy to hate, unless you like people who want to destroy our country.

First I feel sorry for Syrian people no doubt

The group calling “immediate action” is a joke same group invade Iraq. When they were invading Iraq 10000s people died in civil war other part of the world. This group totally ignored everything.

Same group browed money went to war with Iraq now we are broke

Many nations who’s opposed the Iraq war now with Obama and they are asking Russia to join with us that is good news

Still this a complicated issue I hope this administration will take right action on right time

  18. The Greedy Old Pigs declared class war on US!

Why is CNN wasting time interviewing a war criminal? And why should any sane American take advise on foreign policy from a war criminal (or war crime enabler). The GOBP deathcult and Rove's Plan to Elect the Next Neocon Robot are very obvious: they want to create a diversion from their screwups at home while harming the economy at the same time in hopes of rescuing their rapidly falling odds of winning in November. Remember folks, these folks are vilely and blatantly un-American. Every time they ramp up the warmongering, speculators drive oil prices up even further and you get the shaft. Got that? Every time Rove and his buddies shoot of their chickenhawk mouths, the rest of us pay at the pump. These people are parasites and psychopaths.

For Conservatives it's not about the blood of American soldiers, children, wives and families losing their loved ones, it's about enriching themselves through the means of war. Yes, some people must die for things to change but Lord please not let it be more American soldiers.

the big joke here is no matter WHAT Obama may choose to do on Syria these same right wingers will be against it so what difference does it make? I would rather him do what he's doing know saving American military lives than go in BOMB or whatever these warmongers would prefer.

Why should the President listen to this group of backstabbers? They were sure loud about rushing into war with Libya, but once he finally went to war they quickly turned around and said we shouldn't be over there, even going as far as to use the war powers act to try and forcibly end our mission over there.

Here we go again, the war mongering GOP, ready to send others into war. They have already threatened war with Iran too. There is overwhelming for the US to stay OUT of Syria and that is exactly what should be done. Diplomacy should be used first and foremost, then a unified WORLD action if needed. The all volunteer military is way to easily used for political purposes which Republicans have done before. I feel deeply for the Syrians but if we go in there, what other places in the world do we go into next? Syria is not the only country that is having problems.
