BLITZER'S BLOG: It’s going to get nasty!

(CNN) – If you think it’s been a rough ride for the Republican candidates during this current campaign season, just wait. This will be seen as child’s play once the general election campaign begins.

I’ve said this before but I’ll say it again: the war of words between President Obama and his campaign supporters versus the eventual Republican nominee and his supporters will be fierce.

President Obama is above this low-level crap. He is an intelligent, caring person who does not subscribe to dirty
    politics like the GOP clowns.

The only "war of words" will be GOBP deathcult fear, lies, propaganda and hate and the Dems pointing out the insane things Rmoney and Mr. Frothy have already said. Flipper and Friothy each got records the size of a NYC phonebook and they very well paint a picture of an out of touch psychopathic spolied elitist daddy's boy (GWB V 2.0, minus the compassion and public speaking skills) and a rightwing religious extremist seeking to turn America into a theocracy. And every time their own words get played back they'll scream "unfair" and play the victim. No "personal responsibility" whatsoever.

The Obama and Democrat lie and smear machine will be in high gear because they sure as heck can't run on their accomplishments! So where are all the ads slapping Obama and the Democrats on the back for Obamacare??? BWAHAHAHA!!! Oh yeah, 60% of America wants it repealed. Obama's SIGNATURE legislation, his "major accomplishment", consuming one year of this country's time while the economy was left to flounder and millions more go unemployed.

Prove me wrong Democrats! I DARE you to run ads listing all the Democrats that voted for Obamacare! I double dog dare ya cowards!

Obama has been the lowest, dirtiest most partisan politician I have ever seen. A total political hack. And I'm just talking about his behavior since he took office!

Nasty? You might be right. But, I think anti-superPAC commercials can be effective, too.

Meanwhile, I want to finish watching "Rick and Mitt's Excellent Campaign Adventures".

This is a Gospel Truth, "None of these Idiots from Republican Party even deserve to any public-elect Offices". Because They do not care for America nor for American-Middle-Class. Truth.
PS: This nation needs to Nationalize Oil-Companies to lower oil prices. True, true, and true....Big drama they are doing.

4 and 4 More. Our president will not stoop to the level of fecal excretion we've seen with the publicans. He's too smart for that. Once he proves again that he's above the pettiness of the repugs, Americans will further appreciate the man for his classic behavior. He'll win 4 more years.

Canada is the largest an securest supplier by far of crude the USA
Pump prices 3 days ago per U.S. gallon in $ U.S. were:
    USA $2.87 Canada $4.58 UK $7.27 Australia $ 4.80
US consumes 133 trillion gallons of gas per annum
Add 5 cents to the USA pump price and you will get rid of your entire national debt in 5 years max . Such a small amount would not affect the economy
As a country totally dependent on Canada for secure oil how can you justify paying $1.71 per gallon less than Canadians , or $1.93 Australia or $ 4.43 UK
Almost all of the difference is taxes which go to maintaning and expanding roads bridges and infrastructure
Sadly the American people seem to want all of the "goodies " but don't want to pay for them. Sadly too , the country's leaders, for the sake of their own political careers are not providing the 2012 reality check that the country needs.
I am so saddened to see your great country and people suffering so much .
    Thank you

@Truth – "Oh yeah, 60% of America wants it repealed."

Do you just make this stuff up? The polls on the healthcare bill average as follows: For 37.3%; Against 49.8%. The GOP polling arm, Rasmussen has it 38%-51%. However, when you dig into the details you find that 25% of those against the bill wanted it to go further (such as single payer). Therefore, those who support the bill or want an even stronger bill = 49.8%; those against it because it went too far = 37.4%.

Sadly, Mr. Blitzer, you are so right, and it is disgraceful and embarrasing. The flood gates of money
opened by the conservative wing of SCOTUS has created a monster that we may never recover from.
The disrepect these awful people show for President Obama is appalling. They are not good enough
to sit in my White House. Thank you.

"Three of four GOP candidates would add to deficits"

Of course, the plan is to starve the federal gov't despite it's and our society's nutritional needs and let the middle class and poor "eat cake." Of course, the 4th ideologue numbskull is far worse....his plan is to "burn the village to save it"...essentially dissassembling the federal gov't outright instead of trying to do so indirectly by pushing plutocratic economic policies that accelerate the redistribution of wealth away from the middle class, poor and federal gov't to the already exorbitatnly rich.

As far as "going to GET nasty," it's entirely unsuprising to me that the stupidest man in "news" would fail to realize that it STARTED and HAS BEEN nasty ab initio. A more vitriolic, misinformation-filled, rabid, ideologically parochial, women's rights disrespecting, civil rights threatening, racist, religious fundamentalist pandering pantheon of plutocratic self-serving opportunistic trolls has never been fielded before in our history as though they have any business running for the President of our country. It started nasty and will end nasty...just like cholera.

Obama's campaign already pledged they would destroy the Republican nominee. Then he hired back Rahm Emanual to chair the campaign. Rahm will be a moderating influence compared to the current campaign strategy.

    Truth and Nothing-

Fact: Obama will be relected in 2012. The GOP should start to think about 2016 now, so they can put up candidate that has a chance of winning. Interesting that all the "GOP stars" Christie, Bush, Daniels refuse to run this year. Why do you think that is Mr. Truth? Because they have enough sense to realize thay can not win against Obama. Wake up buster.

"President Obama is above this low-level crap."

Not quite accurate. He is savvy enough to let others sling the mud for him and not condemn anything. So he is only slightly above it, to avoid the stench only.
