Palin PAC: 'Game Change' is 'fact change'

(CNN) – Sarah Palin took a hit at the upcoming television film based on her time as the 2008 vice presidential nominee Thursday, releasing a mock trailer portraying her candidacy in a much rosier light than the film's actual preview.

"Game Change," set to air on HBO March 10, stars Julianne Moore as Sarah Palin. A trailer released in January (WATCH) cast Palin as the villain of the 2008 contest, a portrayal advisers to Palin shot down in a conference call with reporters last week.

On Thursday Palin's political action committee SarahPAC released a video (WATCH) mocking the film, editing together complimentary clips from newscasts and interviews to present a positive portrait of Palin's candidacy. Left out is the behind-the-scenes whispering the "Game Change" trailer features heavily.

The mock trailer begins with a play on the film's title. The text "Game Change" transforms to "Fact Change," and a clip of Moore answering the phone with "This is Sarah" intros the words: "No, this is Sarah."

What follows is a two-and-a-half minute montage of television clips and newspaper headlines from 2008 proclaiming Palin an asset to Sen. John McCain's presidential campaign.

Palin is described as a "feisty, strong, tough and straight-talking governor," and someone who has "completely transformed the entire race, probably the entire party."

Former President Bill Clinton, in an interview, is shown calling Palin "Gutsy, spirited, real."

Former McCain advisers, portrayed in the film's trailer as fretful over Palin's intelligence and temperament, are shown in SarahPAC's video praising the former candidate.

Top adviser Steve Schmidt is shown saying "Her focus is extraordinary. She's working 15, 16 hours a day. We're very pleased with the results."

Schmidt, portrayed by Woody Harrelson in the HBO film, has been blamed for many of the anti-Palin stories following McCain's loss.

In the call with reporters last week, several current and former Sarah Palin advisers said Schmidt was responsible for spreading falsehoods about Palin that became the basis for storylines in the book "Game Change" was based upon.

A press release from SarahPAC explains the video as an attempt to set facts straight ahead of the film's release.

"Game Change is just the most recent example in a long history of facts being distorted for profit," the release said.

It adds, "Behind Game Change's slanderous agenda is a trail of money leading straight to the Barack Obama campaign and the Democrat Party."

HBO, like CNN, is owned by Time Warner.

I really did used to like McCain, even though I usually vote Democrat. But when he inflicted her on our country, I was, and remain, appalled. No vetting. No actual looking into what her personal knowledge base contained. I like McCain. I think when he is alone with himself, he probably has huge regrets. He has to say otherwise in public, but I do believe that he regrets what he did. He was trying to be "something" with a female VP nominee, someone different. This is all fine. But you have to add in QUALIFIED. Sarah IS smart. Oh, yes, she is. She has made millions off people's stupidity. The modern American success story. She has nothing to sell that is worthwhile, but she sells it anyway. godlove'er.

This fool constantly throws bombs at President Obama. She claims she's tough as nails but the slightest criticism of her she cries like a 5 years old sissy. The Idiot from Wasilla the gift that keeps on giving.

OBVIOUSLY the Democratic party funds HBO now too. And Sarah Palin was a huge asset to the 2008 campaign... in that she handed victory to Barack Obama!

"Fact change"..? Palin is complaining about fact change? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Palin, of all people, should know that there is no such thing as bad publicity. HBO is delighted to get the extra attention! Palin is probably delusional enough to think she has a more powerful brand than HBO.
Keep the comedy coming, Sarah! After making a mockery of the Republican Party and destroying whatever dignity was still left in the political process, the least you can do is keep making a fool of yourself so the nation can have some good laughs and thank the good Lord we were way ahead of you in line when they handed out the brains.

Sarah has to fight this movie because the one thing she cannot quit is the money flow she has found since the debacle began. Greedy little thing, but not completely stupid.

I suspect the Palin camp's childishly insecure response to HBO's "Game Change" is doing far more damage to Sarah Palin's future political prospects than any cable movie ever could.

Well, I'm definitely going to watch Game Change now. Before, I was indifferent, but now that Palin has found it so objectionable, my curiosity is aroused.

I think everything has already been said about sara.
i only question what she is correctiing when she says she hasn't seen it, and she won't watch it. Is she just guessing what everybody in the movie is talking about, or does she know from experience what the bad parts are?

I mean, I understand WHY the republicans picked someone as dumb as sarah palin to vault to the front of the party, they needed someone to electrify the party in response to obama being exciting and appealing. however, they didn't just swing and miss, they hit themselves in the head with the bat too.

Alaskans know Ms. Palin very well. She is an opportunist who rose to power by stepping on the figurative bodies of other Republicans. After she quit her job as governor before completing her term, she shamelessly used her Alaska connection for personal gain while giving nothing back to the state. She is often referred to as $arah up here. She blames everyone but herself for her failures and abused her power when in office to punish those who dared criticize her or her family.
