(CNN) – Steve Bridges, an actor best known for impersonating then-President George W. Bush at the 2006 White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner, died last week at the age of 48, his manager said Sunday.
Bridges' portrayal of Bush was replayed around the world following the 2006 event, which was most notable because the real president was standing right next to Bridges on stage.
According to Bridges' website, the actor also appeared as former President Bill Clinton and current President Barack Obama.
A statement from Bridges' manager said the actor returned from performing in Hong Kong and complained of feeling "super jetlagged."
"A message left for Mr. Bridges on Friday went unanswered," the statement said. "Bridges' maid discovered his body in his Los Angeles home Saturday morning, March 3, 2012. The exact cause of death is unknown at this time."
Why would you want to be Bush?
Super jetlagged? Hmmm?.. Only thing that makes sense to me is perhaps he had a fatal pulmonary embolism after that long trans-atlantic flight? Any way, may he RIP. 48 is quite young to die.
Steve was a marvelous comedian and actor; he will be missed.
Better than the real Bush.
Must have owed someone money.
If he's that great of an impersonator, he must have died from the mountains of cocaine he snorted in attempt to impersonate the real George DUBYA.
Life is short.
Sad. This guy was talented. I thought that bit at the press party was hilarious. I'm guessing heart attack, or " cardiac event".
Actor flies home from Hong Kong, feels super-jetlagged, then dies of mysterious causes.
Sounds eerily like the movie "Contagion".
I'll take this guy over the original any day. At least Steve Bridges wasn't a well known neer-do-well.
This guy was great, I can't believe the steps he took to impersonate Bush, but I swear I laughed like a little school girl the first time I saw him on Comedy Central.
Rest in peace Steve Bridges
I remember your skits back in years over at Jay Leno and they were hilarious. We all lost a truly skilled imitator

The Chinese have dealt with Mr. Bridges. He shouldn't have gone to Hong Kong. RIP.
Steve Bridges as President would probably have done less damage to the Country than Dubya.
Just too young. It may be too soon to blame the trans-continental flights but this should draw attention to the dangers of these extended flights.
I thought Bush was kind of a moron. But you have to appreciate a dude who can stand there and have someone make fun of him COMPLETELY and get the joke.
That's too bad. He certainly had more brains than the real one.
Wow, I've never seen Bush show any hint of a sense of humor before!
This is horrible! Bridges was spot on as President Bush. Was one of the main reasons to tune into Jay Leno several years back – to see his Bush impressions and skits!
RIP. The Bush's reach is very far!
Spot on impression too... was hilarious in the skits he did.
R.I.P.
