Santorum wins Alabama, Mississippi, CNN projects

(CNN) - Rick Santorum will win Tuesday's Republican primaries in Alabama and Mississippi, CNN projects, giving a boost to his claim that he is the conservative alternative to Mitt Romney.

The projected wins were somewhat of a surprise. Polls released Monday showed Santorum running 8 to 10 points behind Romney and Newt Gingrich in Alabama and Mississippi.

Poor little rich kid cant buy the nomination with ease, and Santorum gains momenteum while Romey prematurely calls Santorums desperate end. Regular people just dont like Romney and he can't close the deal ever.

I saw a great bumper sticker today; " OMG! 2012" Short, sweet and to the point.
Yes it is exciting. Unless your name is Barack Obama. Why? Accountability. Soon this whole spendfest ends and Washington becomes a responsible and productive part of our nation again.

It seems he is the most honest candidate... I don’t care who has the best viewpoints, I would rather vote for someone that says what they think, rather then what they think you want to hear. Good job Rick Santorum! I personally think you are the best person to go against the unpopular president.

Dang, you went from supporting the bottom of the barrel – Cain – to now who, Santorum. I guess you're down to the last and really have no choice – just want "someone" who THINKS they can beat President Obama – For that reason, it's NOT going to happen – Too many "wannabes" that dropped faster than anyone can pick "something" from the Right!!!

I believe also he is somewhat honest.Willard is a pathological lier.I also believe he is a conservative.Republicans should run a true conservative, and at least have a chance to see if he can win.He will never beat president Obama.

I'm not a big Santorum fan. I'm best described as a fiscal conservative social moderate. Romney 2012!

Congratulations to the people in Mississippi and Alabama for seeing through Willard and Ann's BS. Thank you for sending THEM a message LOUD AND CLEAR that you are NOT ignorant and he CAN'T buy your votes with his "cheesy grits" comments. Maybe now the people in Illinois will start to wake up out of their coma and REJECT this con artist as well. Willard might as well lose IL now rather than later. Again, thank you for showing him the door.

You on the ultra-right-wing always forget the most basic facts. Republicans were in charge when they broke the bank! Bush was President for 8 years! They started the wars. They lowered taxes and increased the deficit. The money President Obama had to spend to bail us out was needed only because the Republicans spent the money on the wars, reduced our income, and got too cozy with Wall Street. Without Obama's stimulus package we'd be in the bottom of a terrible depression. You want to put those people BACK IN CHARGE? Why?

I live in Alabama. I knew Santorum would win here. Im sure every man here agrees with his views pertaining to women's issues. It's embarrassing and i am ashamed at election time to live here. Football season here, however, is awesome. GOBAMA 2012 and go Bama 2012 🙂

All I can say is that David Axelrod loves people like you. "...Terrible depression..." So don't be thrown off by the $16 trillion and rising national debt or the still in the dumps housing market or the 8.3% unemployment after $ trillions spent on jobs, jobs, jobs, jobs! We avoided a terrible terrible depression thanks to Obama! The 6 mile mile hole we put the nation in was well worth it. Well worth it my friend! In 3 decades when the next generation is busting their butts to keep up with Obama's debt, maybe they too will appreciate that terrible depression we narrowly avoided. I think not.

Really, you expect people to fall for the 16 trillion dollar debt is Obamas fault ? Really are you that desperate ? It's going to take three generations to pay Obamas debt, you really think people are stupid and belive that the Bush years did nothing to create the problem that Obama has had to deal with ? Yeah we get it you hate the President but come on get some reality in how we came to today.

The results of Obama's ultra-expensive partisan programs only suggest that the "Party of No" should have been the" Party of Hell No!". Those partisan Democratic programs that cost our country $trillions were just rookie mistakes that lead to nothing more than unmet promises and a flurry of excuses. We can do better. We will very soon. Romney 2012!

Hangum high states have spoken. They want Preacher and Chief to run this country on christian values. Funny the guy never backs his beliefs without refering to anything in the bible just goes around saying conservative and values. Thats his whole platform start with conservative and end with values. That is his whole speech. The only true conservative with values that make this country great. I should write this guys speech. He has been repeating this crap for three months and not one reporter says anything about how shallow his presidential run really is and how dangerous this clown is to our country.

Nobody was calling him byhis first name but hey this guy its even being called the worst of all time in his first term. Working with the most treasonist congress in american history. Rick has turned off the independent and moderates, and the Nominee will not win without them. They will either vote for Obama or just stay home. Either way it translates to 4 more yrs w Obama.  The time for dreaming of a "perfect" nominee is over. If you want Obama out, Romney is our ONLY choice. Rally around him and let's get on with it already!

    Gross. Just gross.

Watch this lunatic with the sound turned down: he clenches his jaw and jerks around seeming so filled with hate he can't even open his jaw properly when he speaks.

I predict the discovery of either a boy-toy or a basement full of horribly molested children. Such hate-filled repression cannot continue without some sort of extremely destructive outlet.

What heroic act did Senator Santorum do where he considers he deserves over $11,000 per month ($132,000 per year) more than soldiers wounded defending our freedom? I am a veteran and feel I have the right to write this letter. I am not receiving veterans disability. Senator Santorum served in the Congress for sixteen years. He was a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, the group who decides military pay and pensions. As a senator, Rick Santorum twice voted to raise his pay. Senator Santorum gave himself over $14,000 per month while deciding to compensate veterans wounded and disabled in defense of this nation less than $3,000 per month. Raising the pay for men and women disabled defending our nation would not have cost Senator Santorum anything. Someone who cared; someone grateful, would have given them more. Santorum has asked for Gingrich to drop out. Santorum should be the one who drops out. He has 16 years experience reading an writing legislation and voting yes or no. Santorum does not have the experience and ability to lead our country.
