Washington (CNN) - House GOP leaders unveiled a 2013 budget blueprint Tuesday that has little chance of becoming law, but draws a clear contrast with Democrats on taxes, spending, and a host of hot-button political issues - all of which could play a pivotal role in the 2012 campaign.
Republicans cast the $3.53 trillion plan - which doubles down on past GOP proposals to overhaul Medicare and other politically sensitive programs - as a bold attempt to reverse skyrocketing federal deficits and avert a looming fiscal catastrophe.

t's ver batim what he put forth last year to destroy medicare in order to give more tax cuts to the millionaires and gas execs.
NO tHANKS
Yes, more tax cuts to wealthy,, even god is showing some kind of nasty look at Mexico Earthquakes, etc, these GOP idiots need to come down to planet earth and stop nasty stuff. o.k, They want to ban your social security, and Medicare...etc, GOP is full of idiots....
When Paul Ryan was asked this morning on "Morning Joe" about where he would make his alternative cuts to the looming $400 billion in Defense. He could not say because he would have to hold a public debate on his proposals. When asked for other specific details such as jobs creation, he again deferred to his "open debate" ideas.
How can Paul Ryan make all of these predictions about the size of his projected deficits if he must defer details until after public hearings and debates in the House and Senate? Or is he really saying that he wants to wait until Republicans win the Congress and then he will gut everything? Surprise!
Same tripe, different day. No one will fall for it GOP, except of course the lemmings that have no free will of their own. They've sold their souls (a la 1930's Germany) to the party of Sanctimonious Santorum, Mittens, and the rest

You mean like Obama's saber rattling is causing Iran to saber rattle in return?
Total BS Rudy. OPEC never reduced oil production for those reasons. Simply making it up again huh?

Truth, it is Republican Presidential candidates that are doing the saber rattling. They are the ones raising fears and speculation. The Iranians do not differentiate between candidates and elected polticians. All they hear are leading American politicians. The Obama administration was forced to emit some diplomatic code language recently when they said that the Iranian government was "reasonable" I think the said.
And, OPEC reduced production in late 2007 and early 2008 because of...of what else?
Finally someone in Washington DC has the courage to try and save Medicare before it goes broke. We are still waiting for Democrats to come back with their plan. And waiting. And waiting......
Rudy NYC - And, OPEC reduced production in late 2007 and early 2008 because of...of what else?

Dropping demand and sagging prices Rudy, which is why they always do it. OPEC could give a rat's patuti about Iraqi civilians and mosques. They care about their oiul revenue. Honestly get serious and stop concocting these fairy tales of yours.
BTW, it is OBAMA that has stated in that Iran will never be allowed to develop nuclear weapons. Repeated it many times. I would think the Iranians would be paying more attention to Obama than people who aren't even candidates yet. Unless of course they, like us, knew Obama is toast in November.
Save Medicare? Yeah, sure, four.
The teapublikans are only trying to save their rich, sorry super rich, friends and in turn their money to campaign and lie.
I wonder, looking at this Ryan, whether those deep ugly forehead wrinkles on someone young makes your brain shrink in size also.
WE ARE NOT BUYING IT RETHUGS!!!! You already grid and you miserably failed. I do have to give credit to the teapublikans though don't give up, do they????

But they do have a plan. It's the same plan they have for everything else and will suit this as well. It's the Do-Nothing-Blame-Republicans-Plan. But Medicare is perfectly viable if we just tax all the rich people to pay for it, just like everything else. Yes the Golden Goose called "the Rich" can lay endless numbers of golden egss and we'll all live happily ever after.
The Republicans are continuing to do everything they can to keep this country from moving forward. Goodness forebid they should be a part of anything that helps us. I don't think the Republicans should not be allowed to rule in the White House until they learn to behave like adults instead of petulant school yard bullies.

There was no drop in demand. The US was at the height of the SUV boom in 2007. China and India were showing a tripling of their oil consumption from 1997. There was no drop in demand, only a drop in supply in late 2007 that forced prices upwards in early 2008.

The GOBP wouldn't be waiting if it had accepted President Obama's "grand bargain". Too bad they refused to follow the wishes of three quarters of Americans who want a milliionaire tax. President Obama offered 4-1 spending cuts/tax increases. The GOBP, beholden to the vampire capitalists lurking among the 1%, refused to permit this.
