Washington (CNN) - When expectations of a bipartisan Congress seem like a bygone tradition, two men who embodied leadership often beyond party politics were honored in Washington for their combined century of service.
Senators Bob Dole and Howard Baker served in Congress for nearly 100 years between them.

Obama did not cause the Bush/republican near depression-deep recession, he ended it. Obama did not cause the loss of 8 million jobs in Bush's last three years (750,000 in Bush's last month), he stopped it and created 4 million jobs in 3 years. Bush did not start the Bush/republican war in Iraq, he ended it. More later.
Dole and Baker represent what republicans were before there were baggers.
Keep these two and throw out the bums now serving and cut their benifets that they don't deserve for doing nothing.
Whatever happened to bipartisanship in DC?
I cannot believe that the *same* people who are opposed to Pres. Obama's energy policy, which includes alternative forms of energy, are the exact *same* people who cheered for Sarah Palin in 2008 who advocated an identical policy. Seh wished for the US to explore all forms of energy including wind, solar and green energy technologies. Believe it or not, she did.
Yes, great men, both of them: and they would be hounded out of the party for violating the current theology. Sad.
I am sorry to ask me, show me a single thing they contributed to this nation for the welfare of a normal ordinary America Citizen. Zero. So we need to pass the law "Senate and Congress Term-Limits" from the wretched fangs of Career Politicians ruling the lives for GREED, forthwith. Be it Republican, or Democrat, just introduce this bill forthwith....o.k,
100 years of Senate, and Congress--nonsense...o.k, Pass senate and congress term limits, please, Obama pl. sign this legislation next term.

Aye. They are what Republicans used to be before America elected its' *first* black man to be POTUS. The *first* of more minorities to rise to our higest elected office. The RINOs that have overrun the Republican Party know this to be true, and it has driven them mad.
