Group aimed to pit blacks, Latinos against same-sex marriage

(CNN) - A national group opposed to same-sex marriage aimed to fight it by driving "a wedge between gays and blacks" and identifying "glamorous" Latino artists and athletes to advocate traditional marriage, according to newly released confidential memos.

The strategies were among several pursued by the National Organization for Marriage (NOM), which has actively campaigned against same-sex marriage efforts.

I've heard the Teavangelical types say "same-sex marriage unravels the fabric of the American family". Really? How does that work? They do know that nobody will force anybody to marry a person of the same sex? How does what others choose to do in this regard actually impact you? Why do you care?

These pros are from the same ilk that defended smokers rights for so many years. This is big PUBLIC RELATIONS without any moral compass. I know, my graduate work emerged me in the sewage of PUBLIC RELATIONS. Suspension of a personal moral code is crucial for the leaders of the industry.

Those in NOM are in the closet so they cause all these troubles to hide their true identity. They should come out then they will be happy.

Why in a country as Great as the United states would a few want to emulate Rwanda or the former Yugoslavia ?

Compassion and acceptance used to be what made us strong. Division and contempt is always the greatest in times of economic uncertainty.

I'm glad the GOP field of candidates have done about all they can do to alienate most of the general electorate, EXCEPT the racists and the very old evangelical whites.

It is so sad to me that people are so narrow minded and focus on issues such as same sex marriage when we have a healthcare crisis, homeless and hungry children, a recession and an ongoing war over seas that affect all of us, no matter what your sexual orientation is. Come on people, let's focus on things that affect our livelihood and ability to thrive as a nation that people try to come into eberyday becasue we are much more advanced and provide opportiunites other poverty stricken or politically corrupt nations cannot.

The 1% and their "controllers" have used these sorts of divide and conquer tactics for years to keep people from uniting. Nothing to see here, folks; just keep moving.
