Palin congratulates Santorum over 'bulls-' remark

(CNN) – Sarah Palin heaped praise on Rick Santorum after the Republican presidential candidate accused a reporter of "bulls-" questioning over the weekend.

The former 2008 GOP vice presidential candidate said the exchange showed strength.

"It was good and it was strong and it was about time because he's saying enough is enough of the liberal media twisting conservative's words," Palin said on Fox News late Monday night. "I was like welcome to my world Rick. And good on ya, don't retreat."

Santorum engaged in a heated exchange with The New York Times' Jeff Zeleny Sunday night when the reporter asked Santorum about his earlier comment that Romney was "the worst Republican in the country to put up against Barack Obama," in reference to health care. An angry Santorum said "quit distorting my words … It's bulls-."

The former Pennsylvania senator later told CNN's Wolf Blitzer on CNN's "The Situation Room," "If you're a conservative and you haven't taken on a New York Times reporter you're not worth your salt as far as I'm concerned."

Palin echoed the sentiments, calling Zeleny a "liberal leftist in the tank for Obama."

"I was glad that he called out this reporter," Palin said. "He and the other candidates, all of them, they need to do more of this because believe me the American people are tired of what the leftist media continues to do to conservatives."

When asked if a nominee Santorum could be a reality, the former Alaska governor said "anything is possible."

We all know how Palin hates the gotcha questions. She hates any reporter that isn't on the Fake News right wing channel.. They cry and whine about the liberal media, but it's OK for the Republican channel to spew out their hate of Obama 24/7. Shut up Sarah, you stupid woman. Reverend Rick will NEVER get the nomination, and Mr. 1% will NEVER beat Obama!!!!

Like him or not (I don't), he was spot on. The media only tells half the story and makes everything into a drama because it sells.

She is constantly showing how dumb she is. Reagan didn't get beat up by the left media, why? Because he was a centrist who did not get easily offended. A good politician should not be so easily offended as Santorum and Palin. Politics is for big boys and girls.

It's pretty clear that the mainstream media protects Obama. Whatever happened to impartiality?

Fox News Channel first hit the airwaves in 1996 about a month before Election Day. It was immediately recognized as a 24/7 propaganda machine for the right wing as they tried to unseat Pres. Bill Clinton with its' low cost ads and poltical commentary.

Palin, please go away. The American people know its the other way around. Santorum twisted his own words. The media doesnt have to do that for him thank you very much.

Except Santorum actually did say that Romney was the worst Republican to go up against Obama. It's not a twisting words issue; it's a "I don't want to own up to what I said" issue.

Poor Rick and Sarah. My heart goes out to these poor people who have deliberately put themselves in the public spotlight and then so remarkably demonstrated their complete lack of ability to handle the position they're campaigning for. This is simply another case of "gotcha journalism," just like when Ms. Palin was asked to demonstrate an 8th-grade understanding of international relations.

This is America, people. The land where any kid can grow up to be president, not just the smart ones! Let's get rid of this intellectual tyranny, that punishes candidates for being morons! Rise up, idiots! Take back your nation! Revolution!

Seems Palin is as uninformed now as she was during Senator McCain's campaign. The question was valid and not a twisting of Santorum's words because it was EXACTLY what he said when he was in Wisconsin.

"When asked if a nominee Santorum could be a reality, the former Alaska governor said 'anything is possible.'"
As usual, way to not answer a question. At least it's accurate, unlike the support of Santorum's comment, which wasn't.

Palin, again!! you already took Gingrich to his grave; now, this is the final nail in Santorum's coffin. Goodbye Santorum! I know Romney is saying Christmas is near!

Let me try to understand this. You question Santorum about something he said verbatim and it is simply the liberal playing gotcha politics for the president?? It makes no sense. Are the candidates insane? Are those that cheer on their irrational behavior even more insane?

  18. madmaninthemiddle

What did he do other than ask Santorum about something he said?

Did Santorum attack him just to establish his bona fides?

Is it like Falwell calling Bishop Tutu a phony?

Or is the Tina Fey impression of Palin more relevant? "the liberal media keeps twisting my words by repeating them verbatim."

Talk about 2-faced .. this woman would be condemning anyone who said what Mr. Santorum said, if they were a
Democrat. Which way is she going to go the next time? It will be whether you're a Democrat or Republican, of course.
