Rangel to pay $23,000 fine for campaign violation
New York (CNN) - Veteran congressman Rep. Charles Rangel and his campaign have agreed to pay a $23,000 civil penalty in a settlement over the use of a rent-stabilized apartment as his campaign headquarters, according to Federal Election Commission documents.
In response to a complaint originally filed by the National Legal and Policy Center in 2008, the commission found that the 21-term Harlem Democrat violated federal law by paying a reduced market price for a space used as the New York headquarters for multiple campaigns for over a 10-year period, and by failing to report the deduction as an in-kind donation.

Rangel is no better than Newt or any of a couple of dozen crooked congressmen from either party. He is long overdue to be run out of office or run into jail.
Why isn't this Democrat CRIMINAL thrown OUT of the House and put in PRISON where he belongs? If any of the 99% had done this THEY would be in prison! The 99% DEMAND Ripoff Rangel be put in jail for his criminal offenses and stealing from the 99%!!!
Rangel needs to retire.

How many poor 99% people could have used this living space over that 10 year time period. Democrats for the 99%?!! NEXT JOKE!! I say one year in jail for every year he ripped the people off.
Rangel isn't going anywhere until he is good and ready. He's been doing this for too long to get caught up in juvenile politics.
