Video: McCain criticizes Obama for open mic comment to Medvedev

(CNN) – Sen. John McCain of Arizona, a backer of presidential hopeful Mitt Romney, criticized President Barack Obama for telling Russian President Dmitry Medvedev that he needed more "space" on the topic of a missile defense program, which Russia opposes.

The president later explained that the political season in both countries complicated progress. Romney criticized the comments in an appearance on CNN's "The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer."

President Obama said what every president in the last 100 years would have said. Election year politics are a long-standing reality. Of course the GOBP finds every reason to ignore reality. Their poutrage is getting tiresome.

  3. McCain/Palin Losers 2008!

McCain pick Palin as V.P. you just can't trust his judgment on any issues especially on foreign policies. Romney is ready to restart the cold war with Russia, John McCain need to schooling his out of touch nominee to shut up.

so what would McCain and Romney have done if they were in his position? I remember McCain calling the POTUS naive for stating how he would use drones and other methods to go after bin Laden and al Queda (sp.). Well the POTTUS acted as he said he would and his tact (criticized) by McCain worked. What would Mittens do? I have yet to hear any concrete idea from him about anything except calling the POTUS names, such as failure, among other diatribes. But no real ideas. He wrote a book of ideas that he won't even quote its so phony.
    Help the small children.

I have no problem w/ my Chief of State having a discussion w/another nations Chief of State! I believe the topic was ways to increase co-operation & trust between us! Isn't this the kind of things we pay the President to accomplish on our behalf!? I Do have a problem w/ a presidential candidate declaring that Russia is our "geological foe" & standing by his comment even though it's a) not true, b) insulting to Russia, who we've been on friendly terms w/since Gorbachev, c) insulting to America, the people & the office of President! This is the gaffe of gaffes, but surprisingly the media is pretty lackadaisical about it! 1 of our government officials declared a friend a foe! That is outrageous!!

Done and dusted John, please retire. For you to continue to harp and criticize after it was YOU who brought Sarah Palin into the fore, well. . . you have no base to stand on.
I would rather have President Obama playing things close to his vest than you or any of the current GOP hopefuls spewing war at every opportunity.

So I suppose Romney calling Russia our enemy is better? President Obama seems to have a great relationship with Medvedev. He needs more space because he can't do anything with the Congress he has now.

Sorry Mr. McCain, even before I read about your nasty personal life and before you sold your soul to the devil (Palin) in your powergrab, I had a personal reason to be disgusted by you: When I was in high school I had your POW/MIA bracelet (remember that program?). The way it worked was you would return the bracelet to its namesake when you were notified he/she was released. Well, obviously the whole US knew when you were released; I sent it back to the address provided, with my best wishes. And I got back – jack. No form letter, no short note saying thanks (unlike a number of my friends and acquaintances who held bracelets of people not so 'famous'. So, sit down and shut up Mr. McCain; you have zero credibility, as far as I'm concerned.

I had attended McCain/Palin Rally back in 2008 in Minnesota. However,I have thought that McCain was a little too selfish that was why he didn't have any connections with the minority populations especially Asians. Although, I do like Mitt Romney I hope he will be more open minded than McCain and Sarah Palin.

Then is fair game to criticize McCain, for bringing Palin to the forefront of presidential politics. Two piles for the price of one.

  15. Republican who supports President Obama

McShame should know what our President meant. Our President should never give an indication that he will not be in power if he is trying to gain traction on long-term initiatives. He or I would have done the same thing if he was in the same position. Come on... this critique is baseless and stupid.

McCain is wrong again! Here you see the difference between President Obama and the GOP „wane bees“: The President communicates with his international colleges on a level that brings people together to solve problems (Syria) and is willing to share responsibility and credit for success (Libya, etc.). He is thoughtful, thinks beyond the moment and can take more than just one option and situation into consideration. He is a patient, but determent, brave man and shays not away from difficult decisions – and he can keep things to himself when necessary (not looking under his desk when searching)! That has brought back integrity and respect on the international scene for the US gaining a respected voice among nations. Intelligent people like to communicate and work with other smart and dependable people; not with “cowboys” (GOP) that shoot (them) first and ask questions later!

GOP = None of the above! One dimensional, let’s get into another war and make money for our friends (defending American interests = making money for “them” and then “deficits don’t matter!”
They have the same mentality when it comes to domestic matters. No plans for the country – just how can the we avoid doing something for the people (SCOTUS) and at the same time make more money for “US”!
Dear friends, please pay attention! It is more important than ever to keep in mind what the GOP has done to the country, does at this moment and is planning to do again. Shooting as first option and making fun of the less fortunate is not a sign of strength; it is a demonstration of helplessness, no intellectual capacity and stupidity that costs your lives and money – not theirs!

Here we go again with the sore looser from 2008. McCain will never agree with the POTUS because he was beaten very badly in 08.

mcnasty go away. You are a disgrace to the country. You help start this hatred from the right when you, not schmidt or culvahouse, picked the imbecilic morong from AK to be your running mate and the crazy in her came out during the campaign. Just like you disobeying orders in Vietnam and getting shot.
Our political system has never been as toxic thanks to you. The President will be re elected and he will do what it takes to be done with our now allies the Russians!

Obama barely got the NPT approved even when it was endorsed by every living president, republican secretaries of state, joint chiefs of staff, a number bipartisan commissions, only to have the republican senators do ther best to block this critical treaty. McCain are you senile, do you remember the vote?

For Obama to tell Medvedev he understands Russia's major objections to the planned ABM system on their border, but because of election politics any thing he does on this will be fruitless until after the election. Regardless who wins the election they take this seriously. Perhaps this is a reason we can't get them to help out more on Iran and North Korea?

Considering they were both are at a nuclear arms conference, the concept is to try to show some cooperation, sympathetic to differing priorities. They might call it horse trading in Arizona. In Republistan negotiation is against the law, so it have been a while since you seen it.

So Psycho Wyl and his posse just turn around and go back to your bunkers, Republistan is back over near moon base Palin, where Emperor Newt does his history consulting.

Pres. Obama's stated policy towards terrorists is to "tone down the rhetoric".That statement was made by Robert Gibbs from the pulpit in the White House briefing room. Not only is that policy ignorant, its dangerous. The underwear bomber proved that.

Btw John, when I say NPT I mean all the ARMS CONTROL TREATIES: NEW START, NPT, CTBT, AND FMCT
You should know this, but you seem to be forgetting things lately. It is about nuclear proliferation, particularly with crazy countries (you might remember them as Bush's axis of evil) and terrorists who think killing a lot of innocent people is fun and want to steal or buy a nuke..

And now your boy Romney wants Russia to be the #1 foe, not NK or Iran, is this new GOP policy?
Cold War 2, gonna make us rich again
Does he communicate this with Larry Craig foot code?
Your buddy in Texas, Perry, is voting for NATO ally Turkey to be on the list, is that approved?
Will they be forced out of NATO? Are we going to let the Greeks get the first sucker punch in?
You remember Bush43 preemptive strike doctrine. Get them before they can even think about it.

So Senator McCain are you insane like Rush, or you just take orders from him?
Romney wins, you could be secretary of defense, start the Iranian war, show them what a quality nuke can do.
