(CNN) - President Barack Obama clinched the Democratic presidential nomination on Tuesday by winning primaries in the District of Columbia and Maryland, CNN projects.
He has now surpassed the 2,778 delegate-threshold needed to secure his party's nod. For more information, click here.
Barack Obama is #marvelous!
Finally clear unambiguous victory! I appreciate the level-minded connections! GO President Obama meet your next term!
I totally agree. He's the only one fighting for the 99% of the US. We need him in that office.
How can you "project" that he "formally clinches" the nomination? Clinching expresses certainty whereas projecting does not. Please try again.
REALLY?! DARN- I was still rooting for Al Gore... I mean, is this really news? Was there anyone else?
I guess since he is only winning one thing in this election, he (and the liberal media) have to capitalize on it...
Isn't it odd that we've been complaining about how long the Republican nomination has been taking, even though there are 4 rep. candidates (Or 3, depending on the news anchor reporting on it, as Ron Paul has been absolutely ignored...), and it takes the single INCUMBENT candidate almost as long to earn the support of his party?
As far as this election goes, I'd almost feel lucky if Mitt Romney won... Paul 2012 though...
this is funny,
No thanks to Obama.
I vote only non-Obama Democrat.
