"If there's a long night, it's not because it's ballot issues," said Reid Magney, public information officer at the Wisconsin Government Accountability Board.

Kaine touts new numbers in expensive Senate race

Washington (CNN) - Some new fundraising figures bolster the notion that this year's battle in Virginia for an open Senate seat could be one of the most expensive Senate races this cycle.

Former Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine's Senate campaign announced Tuesday that they raised more than $2.2 million in the past three months, and that they have $4.4 million cash on hand. The first quarter haul is a jump from the $1.65 million the former chairman of the Democratic National Committee raised in the fourth quarter of last year.

RGA brings in more than $12 million

Washington (CNN) - The Republican Governors Association reported Tuesday that it raised $12.2 million over the past three months. That's $5 million more than the RGA raised during the first quarter of 2008, the last comparable fundraising period.

The RGA's fundraising haul was larger than what they brought in during the first quarter of 2010, when 37 governorships were up for grabs. Twelve contests for governor are taking place this year.

Poll: Santorum holds onto edge in Pennsylvania

(CNN) – Rick Santorum held the edge in his home state of Pennsylvania three weeks before the state's primary, according to a new poll, but his advantage fell within the survey's sampling error.

According to the Quinnipiac University Poll released Tuesday, the former Pennsylvania senator led Mitt Romney, his chief rival for the Republican presidential nomination, 41% to 35% among likely GOP primary voters. Long shot candidates Rep. Ron Paul of Texas and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich followed with 10% and 7% support respectively.
