Romney still faces challenges rallying the right

Washington (CNN) - Typically when a presidential candidate wraps up his party's nomination after months of reaching out to base voters in the primaries, the question becomes whether he can appeal to the political center for the general election.

Not for Mitt Romney.

No duh. Lets see: Trees are the right height; I love cheesy grits. y'all; I strapped my dog to the top of the car for a family trip; I will get back to you on the Ledbetter law; I plan to defund planned parenthood; the poor have safety nets in place (that the Ryan plan I support would cut more than 30% of it); immigrants are wrong, so are gays; I have freinds who own Nascar teams, also I have friends who own NFL teams; GM should have gone under.

Sounds like MIttens is going to have to stay on the "severe conservative" side to get these zealots behind him. Too bad that alienates pretty much every other demographic in the country. Buh Bye Mitt. Your La Joilla has and it's car elevator awaits your permanent residence

"Typically when a presidential candidate wraps up his party's nomination after months of reaching out to base voters in the primaries" ????

Apparentl;y Dana and Alan were still in Soro's journalism school during the 2008 primaries and missed the bitter battle between Obama and Hillary.

Yup, they will be united in a circular firing squad trying blame someone for making Romney the Rominee; the worst artificial, superficial, talking point drone that the GOP has ever unleashed upon the unsuspecting population.

BWAHAHAHA!!! Romney doesn't have to do this!! Obama already has!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If the thought of 4 more years of Obama and the destruction of the USA doesn't get them to the polls to vote for Romney then they are officially braindead and should be removed from the voting rolls.

Actually, just believing stuff like Paul Ryan saying, "We are not cutting revenue. We are cutting rates." should be enough to get you declared brain dead and removed from the voting rolls.

No worries, all the "christians" will don their brown shirts and jack boots and get right in line, like lemmings as they march towards the cliff.

Romney won't even have to hire an announcer for his commercials. ALL of the speaking should be Obama in Obama's own words. If there IS one thing Obama has done a LOT of it is TALK over the last 4 years. It is a veritable GOLD MINE of broken promises, vitriolic attacks and lies. I wish I was in the business because I could think of dozens of commericals I would like to produce about Obama's last 4 years. Heck the fool even gets in front of cameras DURING the campaign and LIES to the American people about the role of the USSC. I hardly wait to see them. I'm sure all the libtards in here will love them as well. I'm sure there will be a few cameo appearances from his close friends, Pelosi and Reid.

    Obama/2012 Seriously? Seriously America??

  16. Wake up people

They may not like him but in their opinion, it is better than the"boy" that doesn't know his"place" being in the White House. If this election doesn't wake the people up about the racism problem still going on in America almost 150 years after the slaves were supposedly freed, I don't know what will.

    OBAMA 2012!

Romney appears to be white, so the baggers will unite behind him. He may have to dump the teavangelicals, give up the war on women, come out against the Ryan/Romney budget, drop the self-deportation crap, stop attacking seniors, support veterans, stop lying, stop worrying about a safety net for billionares, stop promising to repeal ACA, dump his plan that will add an additional $3.4 trillion to our national debt, sop promising a war with Iraq, quit trying to rekindle a cold war with Russia, . . . Never mind, he is hopeless.

Breaking news – 8 million jobs lost in the last 3 years of the Bush experiment, and the majority of those losses were made up of men and women.

Seriously! Obama, yes! Seriously! He has turned around the Bush/republican near depression. Why put our future in the hands of a Koch puppet? Over 4 million jobs created.

  20. Four and The Door

Who can blame CNN for trying to keep the election story pumped up? This is how newspeople make their living. Keeping it interesting. Fact is, Mitt Romney is getting the Republican nomination and he is the guy to beat Obama. Republicans are rallying behind Mitt Romney and what we are seeing now is Mitt Romney on his way to a win in November.

  21. vote the Tea Party OUT in 2012

all that Mitt needs to do is what he has been doing the past 6 years he has been running for office, tell the right what they want to hear..make promises...be a SEVERE conservative and if he gets enough of them fooled once nominated or even elected he can point to them and say "GOTCHA"!!

...and 10 million lost in the same time frame because there are 6 million fewer people employed than when Obama took office. Not very helpful support for a guy hoping to get reelected. You might want to avoid employment. And the economy. Stick with class warfare and personal attacks. But I think Axelrod is already ahead of you there.

  24. Another Day in the Idiot Mines (not the whiny rightwing liar)

"..and 10 million lost in the same time frame because there are 6 million fewer people employed than when Obama took office."

Another example of how the rightwing extremists in the GOBP cult cling to false or misleading claims despite clear evidence their interpretation is designed for maximum smear and propaganda value rather than for any ability to illuminate important facts (like how those numbers got that way and why).
