Nugent threatens death if Obama wins in November

(CNN) – Rocker Ted Nugent did little to quell his reputation as a conservative firebrand through comments at the National Rifle Association convention when he took aim (pun intended) at high profile members of the Barack Obama administration and voiced support for presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney.

The Romney-backer, musician, activist, NRA board member and tea party figure encouraged an NRA audience over the weekend to help oust the current administration.

"If Barack Obama becomes the president in November again, I will either be dead or in jail by this time next year," Nugent said, according to a video posted on YouTube by the NRA. "If you can't go home and get everybody in your lives to clean house in this vile, evil America hated administration, I don't even know what you're made out of."

He accused the government of "wiping its ass with the Constitution you're living under a rock some place" and labeled members of the Obama administration, including the vice president, attorney general and secretary of state "criminals."

"We need to ride into that battlefield and chop their heads off in November. Am I, any questions?" Nugent said.

This is not the first time Nugent has vividly espoused his views. In fact, the NRA has a section of its website devoted to some of his statements, including profanity-laced comments and threats directed at then candidates Obama and Hillary Clinton during the last election cycle.

Responding to the comments from Nugent, who announced his support for the former Massachusetts governor in March, Romney spokeswoman Andrea Saul said "Divisive language is offensive no matter what side of the political aisle it comes from."

"Mitt Romney believes everyone needs to be civil," she added.

Saul's reaction followed a call from Democratic National Committee Chair Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz to denounce the remarks. Wasserman Schultz sent out an email to supporters on Tuesday to solicit donations off the comments she called "despicable, deplorable and completely beyond the pale."

"Romney's surrogates should know better than to rally the troops with outrageous rhetoric that is unacceptable in our political debate," the Florida representative said in a statement. "Mitt Romney must condemn Nugent's violent and hateful rhetoric immediately, as it has no place in our political discourse or this campaign."

    Nugent needs professional help.

Beyond that, EVERYONE should be denouncing hateful remarks like that, no matter who it's about or what party you belong to. There's no place for that sort of talk.

And what pray tell does Santorum's 3 year old daughter have to say about all this. She's a card carrying member of the NRA right! And her pappy must be soooo proud of her for thinking about joining such an upstanding group of people.

    DC Observer,
Romney created the precedent with his manufactured "issue" last week, and then Mitt fails to hold himself to the same (double)standard. Romney's is too scared to take any stand against this nonsense, while President Obama immediately took a stand for mothers & spouses.

Unfortuantley I like alot of Americans agree with what he said with exception to the threats. No theats against anyone and especially our President even though he is a inept and unable to verbalize any truth. I would protect even my Obama with my life because he is our President. As far as the 2nd amendment like most Americans I know if will never be contested because like the bumper stickers I see everywhere you would get alot of, "Come and Take It".

For those wondering who is this guy anyway > He's a washed up old rock star who played very loudly and usually in only 1 key. His death or being in jail would be a net plus for society;-)

    Ms GOP

I am sorry, but Ted Nugent is an outspoken advocate against drugs and has never used them. Also, if he had taken acid, ever, he would not be the hate mongering fool that he is. Learn something about drugs..

You should really take a hard look at your party, because it is full of this. The GOP party is full of hate. I don't know why Christians align with the party of hate.

Honestly... who would listen to this man..he's still trippen on an acid trip from the 70-80s. His hatred shows that his real look is under a white sheet "hoodie". As a republican, I am sick of seeing "Hate and Malice" from my "conservative, Christian" brothers and sisters. It's sad!

What's Ted shooting up now? It's affected his mind. The Secret Service needs to jail him for threats to the President!

Noticed that Ted has one of his fingers bandaged. Is that because he's had that finger up his you know what, one too many times?

I find it funny that Teds words (and many others) are almost word for word what we used to say about Bush.

    Poor Ted Nugent.
An aged rock'n'roller, who never really was very good.
    And mentally ill as well.
His musical and rhetorical legacy: zilch, nada. just another
    voice of Nothingness.

Hey. He's getting ugly too, aint he? greg

I think they oughta make him the official Rom-money spokes-idiot.

They arrested a guy who called Dick Cheney "disgusting" to his face. Sounds like a death threat from "Dead" Nugent to the president, and he's still walking around.

"He and people like Hank Williams Jr. are very poor representatives for the Republicans."

Actually, the GOP/Teatroll base laps this vitriol up like it's spilled cream. For real. Nugent serves a very particular purpose aimed at a very particular target voting market for the GOP/Teatrolls. Don't doubt it. This was INTENTIONAL, not an "oopsy...I guess we can't invite him back...he really shocked and suprised us with such violent, degrading and borderline threatening language and rhetoric." MAKE NO MISTAKE: NUGENT IS SAYING EXACTLY WHAT THAT SEGMENT OF THE GOP/TEATROLLS BASE WANTS TO HERE.

His best song was the one he didn't sing. Most of his music is terrible and he's a pedophiler. Yes, he's a true Republican and his opinions have no clout!

Dead or in jail by this time next year? Win-win, in my opinion. His music career died long ago...

Republicans need to make up their minds!!!!!!!!!!!

Are they pro choice period or are they pro choice when it suites them? When it comes to guns its their right to possess guns, lots of them too. But when it comes to abortions, no they have to decide for the women and make them go through a lot of humiliating loops!!!! And they claim they are for big government!?
