Nugent threatens death if Obama wins in November

(CNN) – Rocker Ted Nugent did little to quell his reputation as a conservative firebrand through comments at the National Rifle Association convention when he took aim (pun intended) at high profile members of the Barack Obama administration and voiced support for presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney.

The Romney-backer, musician, activist, NRA board member and tea party figure encouraged an NRA audience over the weekend to help oust the current administration.

"If Barack Obama becomes the president in November again, I will either be dead or in jail by this time next year," Nugent said, according to a video posted on YouTube by the NRA. "If you can't go home and get everybody in your lives to clean house in this vile, evil America hated administration, I don't even know what you're made out of."

He accused the government of "wiping its ass with the Constitution you're living under a rock some place" and labeled members of the Obama administration, including the vice president, attorney general and secretary of state "criminals."

"We need to ride into that battlefield and chop their heads off in November. Am I, any questions?" Nugent said.

This is not the first time Nugent has vividly espoused his views. In fact, the NRA has a section of its website devoted to some of his statements, including profanity-laced comments and threats directed at then candidates Obama and Hillary Clinton during the last election cycle.

Responding to the comments from Nugent, who announced his support for the former Massachusetts governor in March, Romney spokeswoman Andrea Saul said "Divisive language is offensive no matter what side of the political aisle it comes from."

"Mitt Romney believes everyone needs to be civil," she added.

Saul's reaction followed a call from Democratic National Committee Chair Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz to denounce the remarks. Wasserman Schultz sent out an email to supporters on Tuesday to solicit donations off the comments she called "despicable, deplorable and completely beyond the pale."

"Romney's surrogates should know better than to rally the troops with outrageous rhetoric that is unacceptable in our political debate," the Florida representative said in a statement. "Mitt Romney must condemn Nugent's violent and hateful rhetoric immediately, as it has no place in our political discourse or this campaign."

Didnt they just arrest a military member for making far less dangerous threats to Obama?

Nugent should be charged with threats against the govt.

Put in jail where he can get the cat scratch fever from his cellmate.

Romney won't condemn a thing Nugent says. He, just like all other radical GOPers nowadays, are content to sit by and let blatant hatred toward and vicious lies about the opposition stand as fact by not saying a word, hoping that the stupid portion of the population will take it as gospel to the voting booths. Yet another example of how sick (and not so subtly racist) American politics have become. What's more, Obama has NEVER done a thing to limit gun ownership, nor does he show any potential of doing anything to change gun laws in America. The NRA is literally up in arms about nothing (pun intended).

Nugent has always been on a "journey to the center of his mind" but he lost it long ago to "cat scratch fever" (an inside joke to those who know his musical history).
He became a flamethrower long ago and most of the musicians I know consider him an embarresment.
Out of tune and missing the beat.

I feel like he should be arrested right now, since he is basically threatening to kill the president. How can someone say that? Someone who is claiming guns are self defense is threatening to kill someone. If there weren't psychos like him to defend against, we wouldn't need guns to defend against anyone at all!

Ted is a tradior to the USA! Obama is the president and he deserves the respect given to all that have held that office. Statements like he made should be denounced by the leaders of the republican party, that is if they have a backbone or civic pride!

He's too yellow to do anything himself - call him a limp, impotent rabble-rouser. He won't do anything - but he WILL rile up some nutjob to do the killing for him - that's incitement.

He called his noise "head bashing rock". Apparently, he's a victim of shaken nitwit syndrome. Repeated brain injury will do that.

Ted Nugent is an idiot and has always been an idiot and again, I just wonder why we give so much power to these ridiculous people. Nugent has always been a lot more important and brilliant in his own head than anyone else thought. What a ridiculous man.

Instead of spouting off garbage no one wants to listen to any more, Nugent needs to go back to what he's good at... playing songs no one wants to listen to any more.

Our system is broken because the Republican party feels the need to win at any cost, and they have hijacked government by making a 60% "super majority" required for just debate. They have resorted to vile, disrespectful, lying rhetoric to influence those who don't even qualify for their economic paltforms. Not long ago, if any American ever disrespected a President, regardless of party, it was unacceptable to any civilized person. When John McCain was told by a supporter that Obama was a heathen Arab, Senator McCain replied that "Barak Obama is a Christian American family man who I disagree with politically, next question." Romney won't win, but the un-civil discourse the Rebuplicans have created will haunt our political process forever. Remember sitting Congressman Joe Wilson who interrupted a State of the Union address with the immortal comment,"YOU LIE!" on national television. America better not be stupid enough to let these guys have a do over... Look what happened last time...

Please kill yourself. your music sucks and it's easy to get arrested in America like you want. Don't shoot and kill anyone, cause that won't get you arrested, ala' George Zimmerman. Just go up to a cop with five dollars worth of marijuana and you will be sure to get arrested like the million's of other Americans who are in jail for crimes against themselves all courtesy of the republican bud into your life party

Where was Nugent when his country required him to be part of a well-regulated militia during Vietnam? He took a deferment, along with Newt, Cheney, and the rest of the rightie chicken-hawks. He has no credibility on the issue of patriotism, since his own selfish needs were clearly more important. The only decision that seems to matter to him is what he can do to make himself feel good. Complete, self-absorbed a$$.
