Nugent threatens death if Obama wins in November

(CNN) – Rocker Ted Nugent did little to quell his reputation as a conservative firebrand through comments at the National Rifle Association convention when he took aim (pun intended) at high profile members of the Barack Obama administration and voiced support for presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney.

The Romney-backer, musician, activist, NRA board member and tea party figure encouraged an NRA audience over the weekend to help oust the current administration.

"If Barack Obama becomes the president in November again, I will either be dead or in jail by this time next year," Nugent said, according to a video posted on YouTube by the NRA. "If you can't go home and get everybody in your lives to clean house in this vile, evil America hated administration, I don't even know what you're made out of."

He accused the government of "wiping its ass with the Constitution you're living under a rock some place" and labeled members of the Obama administration, including the vice president, attorney general and secretary of state "criminals."

"We need to ride into that battlefield and chop their heads off in November. Am I, any questions?" Nugent said.

This is not the first time Nugent has vividly espoused his views. In fact, the NRA has a section of its website devoted to some of his statements, including profanity-laced comments and threats directed at then candidates Obama and Hillary Clinton during the last election cycle.

Responding to the comments from Nugent, who announced his support for the former Massachusetts governor in March, Romney spokeswoman Andrea Saul said "Divisive language is offensive no matter what side of the political aisle it comes from."

"Mitt Romney believes everyone needs to be civil," she added.

Saul's reaction followed a call from Democratic National Committee Chair Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz to denounce the remarks. Wasserman Schultz sent out an email to supporters on Tuesday to solicit donations off the comments she called "despicable, deplorable and completely beyond the pale."

"Romney's surrogates should know better than to rally the troops with outrageous rhetoric that is unacceptable in our political debate," the Florida representative said in a statement. "Mitt Romney must condemn Nugent's violent and hateful rhetoric immediately, as it has no place in our political discourse or this campaign."

Isn’t this the same American patriot Ted Nugent that dodged the Vietnam draft?

Tough talk from a guy who decided to dodge the draft (by putting on a crazy act including crapping his pants and living in them for a couple weeks) when it was his time to serve the country.

We can only hope his threat to die or go to prison comes true.

Hmmmm, Ted dead or Ted in jail? Do we have to only pick one? Ted is a chickenhawk coward who dodged the draft by taking a dump in his pants. Yeah, he's a real hero and red-blooded American. Yellowbelly, that is.

How is he allowed to get away with this?
I guess inciting to riot is no longer a crime.

I'm not quite sure what the NRA has against Obama. I don't recall any significant push to ban any kind of gun rights coming from this administration.

I think if people were truly informed, they would realize what a MODERATE Obama is (which is why many of my Dem friends are disappointed in him). Just because Fox News, Rush Limbaugh and the ilk tell you otherwise, it doesn't make it true. Please do a little research into the TRUE record and then decide. I think you'll be surprised at how in the middle he is on most issues.

Sounds like Ted will be dead or in prison this time next year. What's the problem with that?

  9. Rock Against Violence

Ted Nugent has been an idiot his entire life. The aging rocker cannot sell a record any more so he must resort to Limbaugh type exploits in a wasted attempt to appear relevant and newsworthy. His songs are all about violence (much against women) and he is a Right Wing anti-drug zealot who lives to kill things.

Someone should have cut off his ponytail a long time ago. The man is am embarrassment to the rock and roll community, the same people who have paid his way for decades. In essence, he has been a fake rocker the whole time. He was an idiot all the way back to the Amboy Dukes.

Nugent: kiss off and fade away, because you did not have the guts to burn out like the rest of em.

I'm a liberal if you'd need a label, but I'm an old nugent fan. I play guitar today in part because of him. "Strangle hold" rocks.

And I'm not here to decry what he said. It's said in ignorance to a great degree. And I'm guilty of believing that Bush and Cheney and some others should be doing time as war criminals.

Freedom is key to any true liberal. Let him be free to speak his mind in front of a bunch of people that are going to love every word. Liberty is about this kind of thing and many others. I just wish Liberty was for all, all the time, and not for a few most of the time.

It's funny though. Obama has never challenged guns. He's been such a centrist, so much so, it surprised people like me and if we're angry with him, it's because he's so far to the right of us. People are still talking trash, and I don't doubt a lot people hate Obama like my step dad once hated Kennedy. But at the same time, given his record, it's not that bad. It's so centrist only the extremes have real cause to be alarmed at all, and then not by much.

It's why so often it seems a race thing underneath it all. But maybe it's not.

Maybe "Republican" and "Democrat" are the new "Races" at odds in the new "Racism"?

Ted nugent on Fox News regarding Rage Against The Machine: Yes, you know, we disagreed with a lot of administrations in the past, but none of our rhetoric included, you know, threatening lives. These guys are over the top. But they're lunatic fringe that even your average Democrat liberal doesn't agree with. But, unfortunately, nobody is silencing these guys, or not necessarily silencing, but condemning this outrageous violence that they're recommending.

lol, how can Romney identify with Southern Americans? He'll look at you as he would a hispanic or black. I once heard from an aristocratic white that, "White trash is worse then being Black." Keep that in mind moving forward. I'm sure Mr. Romney's supporters may agree before they go out saying anything to get your vote.

Better start planning your funeral NOW, Teddy boy!! Our beloved President Barack Obama is going to be resoundingly re-elected in November, and with your promised demise, our great country will be free of one more right-wing extremist, whacko MORON!! GOOD RIDDANCE!!!!

Nugent is such a hypocrite wuss. He dodged the draft by eating nothing but junk food, not changing his clothes for 3 weeks, even defecating in them. He detailed it all in a Creem interview in the 70s. If he'd actually done some drugs, he might not be so crazy now.

I don't pay much attention to these fear mongering cross burning white sheet wearing confederates! These people couldn't even scare a tiny Rosa Parks who refused to give up her seat on a bus so why should I fear them? And they can spread all the hate and racism they want but they're not going to faze African-Americans who survived four hundred years of bondage and decades of Jim Crow oppression in this country!

Ted Nugent thinks Mitt Romney is the answer? You've got to be kidding! We DO NOT want the Mormon church running this country (and it will be if Romney is elected President). And let's just admit that ALL politicians are evil America haters and they've sold us out for personal gain!
