(CNN) – Rocker Ted Nugent did little to quell his reputation as a conservative firebrand through comments at the National Rifle Association convention when he took aim (pun intended) at high profile members of the Barack Obama administration and voiced support for presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney.
The Romney-backer, musician, activist, NRA board member and tea party figure encouraged an NRA audience over the weekend to help oust the current administration.

"If Barack Obama becomes the president in November again, I will either be dead or in jail by this time next year," Nugent said, according to a video posted on YouTube by the NRA. "If you can't go home and get everybody in your lives to clean house in this vile, evil America hated administration, I don't even know what you're made out of."
He accused the government of "wiping its ass with the Constitution you're living under a rock some place" and labeled members of the Obama administration, including the vice president, attorney general and secretary of state "criminals."
"We need to ride into that battlefield and chop their heads off in November. Am I, any questions?" Nugent said.
This is not the first time Nugent has vividly espoused his views. In fact, the NRA has a section of its website devoted to some of his statements, including profanity-laced comments and threats directed at then candidates Obama and Hillary Clinton during the last election cycle.
Responding to the comments from Nugent, who announced his support for the former Massachusetts governor in March, Romney spokeswoman Andrea Saul said "Divisive language is offensive no matter what side of the political aisle it comes from."
"Mitt Romney believes everyone needs to be civil," she added.
Saul's reaction followed a call from Democratic National Committee Chair Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz to denounce the remarks. Wasserman Schultz sent out an email to supporters on Tuesday to solicit donations off the comments she called "despicable, deplorable and completely beyond the pale."
"Romney's surrogates should know better than to rally the troops with outrageous rhetoric that is unacceptable in our political debate," the Florida representative said in a statement. "Mitt Romney must condemn Nugent's violent and hateful rhetoric immediately, as it has no place in our political discourse or this campaign."

This has-been will do anything to stay in the public eye.
His music certainly wont keep him there, and at
his age he now qualifies as an old blowhard.
Hope he likes being cradled by the right.
Rock on Turd Nugent. Never was/has been.
Look at me,look at me, I shoot guns.
I assume if he's dead it will be suicide..but remember how the right reacted when the Dixie Chicks made comments about then President Bush? I'm sure they will react the same way here right.
I must have offended some Romney supporters with my last comment, which got "moderated" (read "censored") into oblivion.
Ted Nugent draft dodger. Amazing how many gun nuts who talk tough while shooting defenseless animals
say how "patriotic" they are. Of course they hate most Americans, won't serve in the military and don't want
to pay taxes to support those wars they love but refuse to participate in.
Got to love those conservatives.
The real face of the Tea Party–Ted Nugent. Need I say more?
This guy is as ugly on the outside as he is on the inside
Typical Republican response. Rush Limbaugh makes a stupid vile statement about a woman and they have to equate it to something some Democrat might have said.
Old washed up rocker, Ted Nugent makes an idiot out of himself and the response is about people who might be for Obama. Lame response.
Bill Maher makes rude and crude comments to be funny. He is a political comedian and that's his job. He primarily takes jabs at the Conservative elements of government and society, but will also make his points about the current president as well. He just calls it like he sees it, but I can't say he wields any political power unlike Rush Limbaugh. I find it laughable that the Republican in an effort to save their almighty Rush Limbaugh over his obnoxious comments try and equate the two. Rush is a power broker and Bill Maher certainly is not. Witness Romney's reluctance to make any kind of point about Romney because he wants Limbaugh's endorsement.
Ted Nugent is an over the hill rocker whose career ended decades ago. The only reason he has any notoriety is he has this absurd love affair with guns and hunting. I can't believe both the NRA and the Republican party want to associate themselves with him. It really is pretty crazy when you think about that aspect of the original statement by Nugent. Go ahead make your OWN day.
"Let's not forge Bill Maher donated $1million to Obama's super Pac . Spike Lee tweeted the wrong address of Zimmerman and put an elderly couple in harms way of the Black Panther Party and every Democrat nut that wanted revenge. Mr. Lee also donated $1million dollars to Obama's super pac. Any condemnation fr Obama of his most ardent supporters Maher, Lee, Schultz, Letterman, Wright, Farrakhan? (cue the crickets please) Don't u just love the hypocrisy here. LOL!!!"
Have any of those people threatened to commit a crime? I don't think so. Ya know, after you were pwned a few days ago on your lack of knowledge (about the passage of Dodd-Franks) aren't you embarrassed enough to stop posting nonsense?
ReallY!!? [taran] wrote on page 18:
The White House response to Maher's comments "they cannot be "the arbitrator of every statement that everybody makes in the policy and political arena."

Excuse me. Ted Nugent was a *paid speaker* at an NRA *fund raising* event for Republicans and conservatives alike. You will not see Spike Lee, Bill Maher, David Letterman, or any of the other comedians you mentioned speaking at the DNC national convention this year, nor any year. The bad comedians will be that the RNC convention, not the DNC event.
Sounds like "Sweaty Teddy" is in serious need of some Thorazine & Therapy! The Lunatic Fringe side of the GOP needs to lighten up! People may have made fun of Bush & Cheny, but no one was threatening their lives or the lives of their supporters! Just another symptom of our out-of-control society. All the poisons are flushing out into the mainstream. Or maybe it's the bloodstream.
The same guy who told Hillary to "suck on his machine gun" and the same guy who told Barack to "ride [my shotgun] into the sunset" and the same statutory rapist who fathered a child with a 17 year old out of wedlock doesn't like Barack Obama?
Sweet Ted. Now shut up. That also includes shutting up your awful music.
I wasn't going to vote for Obama, but I will now just to see if the talentless Nugent follows through with his threat to be dead or in jail. Society would be better off without Nugent.
Welcome to Red Neck........
Cat Scratch Fever sucks.
Considering we have seen BOTH Mr. and Mrs. Romney leading the NRA Convention, it seems that campaigning with Ted N. would be a good fit. I'm sure Mrs. Romney only wants to see her family and other families enjoy the safety and comfort that being armed in public places brings. In fact, with her terrific concern for women and families, I would think that Mrs. Romney would campaign for women to be able to carry guns at all times to protect themselves, their children and if necessary, their husband or boyfriend. In fact, with all the violence and threat at public sporting events, perhaps we should make sure that any female attending a sporting event of any kind, be allowed to carry a loaded gun into the venue without any license or penalty. After all, women like men have the right to protect themselves and stand their and their families ground.
Ted Nugent is guitly of incitement to violence, terrorist threats and treason against our sovereign government.
Ted Nugent is totally incoherent. I'm against death threats, no matter what political beliefs a person has.
Those drugs he took when he was younger toasted his brain.
People with that kind of hate are a danger to society and should NOT be allowed to own firearms. If he were a normal taxpayer and not a celebrity the boys in sunglasses would already be paying him a visit.
Yea nothing new here. Just another whack job proud of his hatred. Listen to their reasons, though. Bunch of radical right wing baloney.
Ted! Ted! Ted! All i can say bro is I LOOK FORWARD TO YOU BEING A MAN OF YOUR WORD. oh yeah, and, Good Bye!
Assuming the Secret Service puts their pants back on, they need to give this guy a visit to discuss uttering threats against the POTUS and other government officials.
He's only saying what is in the minds of 70% of all AMERICANS!!!!!
Compare this to the bl a ck panthers allowed to put a bounty on the innocent Florida Zimmerman.
AMERICA WAKE UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ted "Draft Dodger" Nuget is a closet case prepper. Once you smoke away all your brain cells your left with this. They think the world is out to get them. Must be hard living with paranoia, hope Ted is a victim of gun violence like he so proudly advocates for.
