Nugent threatens death if Obama wins in November
(CNN) – Rocker Ted Nugent did little to quell his reputation as a conservative firebrand through comments at the National Rifle Association convention when he took aim (pun intended) at high profile members of the Barack Obama administration and voiced support for presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney.
The Romney-backer, musician, activist, NRA board member and tea party figure encouraged an NRA audience over the weekend to help oust the current administration.

"If Barack Obama becomes the president in November again, I will either be dead or in jail by this time next year," Nugent said, according to a video posted on YouTube by the NRA. "If you can't go home and get everybody in your lives to clean house in this vile, evil America hated administration, I don't even know what you're made out of."
He accused the government of "wiping its ass with the Constitution you're living under a rock some place" and labeled members of the Obama administration, including the vice president, attorney general and secretary of state "criminals."
"We need to ride into that battlefield and chop their heads off in November. Am I, any questions?" Nugent said.
This is not the first time Nugent has vividly espoused his views. In fact, the NRA has a section of its website devoted to some of his statements, including profanity-laced comments and threats directed at then candidates Obama and Hillary Clinton during the last election cycle.
Responding to the comments from Nugent, who announced his support for the former Massachusetts governor in March, Romney spokeswoman Andrea Saul said "Divisive language is offensive no matter what side of the political aisle it comes from."
"Mitt Romney believes everyone needs to be civil," she added.
Saul's reaction followed a call from Democratic National Committee Chair Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz to denounce the remarks. Wasserman Schultz sent out an email to supporters on Tuesday to solicit donations off the comments she called "despicable, deplorable and completely beyond the pale."
"Romney's surrogates should know better than to rally the troops with outrageous rhetoric that is unacceptable in our political debate," the Florida representative said in a statement. "Mitt Romney must condemn Nugent's violent and hateful rhetoric immediately, as it has no place in our political discourse or this campaign."

The romneys phoney righteous indignation over the hilary rosen comments last week and their refusal to repudiate mr. nugent just shows how transparently phoney they are. There is nothing more anti-American than threatening violence against our President. Yet Mr. Romney remains silent – what a freakin' coward.

Nugent is a NRA board member....Romney called him and talked to him for an hour before Nugent on March 2 endorsed him....Since Nugents words sound like a terrorist why don't we just send him to Gitmo without due process until the war against terrorism is over. Nugent would surely be in favor of that if anyone talked like he did against a Republican....
I used to be a big fan, before I heard Nugent speak much. That was the 70s. In the 2000s Nugent has shown himself to be an extremist of the grossest kind. My guess is the Romney people aren't 100% thrilled to be endorsed by this psycho.

The Republicans call themselves good Christians and then go to the NRA convention and encourage gun violence. And to have someone like Nugent, so un-Christ like, so violent, so hateful, speak on their behalf, What has happened to the once-proud Republican party? Where have all the responsible Republicans gone? It is truly sad.
Nugent should fit in well with the rest of the Chickenhawks in the Republican Party. Ever notice how the those most eager to go to war and love to wave guns around are the very same people who never went to war or severed in the military? Nugent, Romney, Gingrich, Santorum, Cheney, W. Bush, Carl Rove, McConnel, Kyle, Boener, Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity....and on and on and on........
If only all Republican supporters would make a promise to kill themselves when Obama is re-elected,

This seems both to be a threat and an incitement to violence. If these clowns didn't have lethal weapons we might safely ignore them. But this does t look promising right now. I would feel better if this guy was in custody.

Have you listened to the rants of the current head of the NRA, Wayne LaPierre – he's just as whacked and equally obnoxious, he's just better dressed. There's no rhetorical difference between the two. The NRA went from a respectable organization to a haven for nut cases, rubes and militia members. Dropped our membership years ago.

Like it or not, Nugent represents the shriveling base of the GOBP cult.
