(CNN) – Rocker Ted Nugent did little to quell his reputation as a conservative firebrand through comments at the National Rifle Association convention when he took aim (pun intended) at high profile members of the Barack Obama administration and voiced support for presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney.
The Romney-backer, musician, activist, NRA board member and tea party figure encouraged an NRA audience over the weekend to help oust the current administration.

"If Barack Obama becomes the president in November again, I will either be dead or in jail by this time next year," Nugent said, according to a video posted on YouTube by the NRA. "If you can't go home and get everybody in your lives to clean house in this vile, evil America hated administration, I don't even know what you're made out of."
He accused the government of "wiping its ass with the Constitution you're living under a rock some place" and labeled members of the Obama administration, including the vice president, attorney general and secretary of state "criminals."
"We need to ride into that battlefield and chop their heads off in November. Am I, any questions?" Nugent said.
This is not the first time Nugent has vividly espoused his views. In fact, the NRA has a section of its website devoted to some of his statements, including profanity-laced comments and threats directed at then candidates Obama and Hillary Clinton during the last election cycle.
Responding to the comments from Nugent, who announced his support for the former Massachusetts governor in March, Romney spokeswoman Andrea Saul said "Divisive language is offensive no matter what side of the political aisle it comes from."
"Mitt Romney believes everyone needs to be civil," she added.
Saul's reaction followed a call from Democratic National Committee Chair Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz to denounce the remarks. Wasserman Schultz sent out an email to supporters on Tuesday to solicit donations off the comments she called "despicable, deplorable and completely beyond the pale."
"Romney's surrogates should know better than to rally the troops with outrageous rhetoric that is unacceptable in our political debate," the Florida representative said in a statement. "Mitt Romney must condemn Nugent's violent and hateful rhetoric immediately, as it has no place in our political discourse or this campaign."

Hmm, I seem to recall The New Black Panthers and Louis Farrakhan giving some equally radical speeches lately regarding violence towards whites. I don't remember reading anything about that on this blog. Oh, I get it! Nugent is a Republican. That's the difference.

The New Black Panthers were two guys standing near a polling place in 2008. They did nothing, just stood there. Of course Fox News turned those two guys into a threat to white America. There was an investigation of them and found they did nothing wrong. They were just posers.
Louis Farrakhan stopped being relevant in the late 70's.
What a vile, scary individual this maniac is, another tea party freak. They should arrest him right now for his threats against the President and his administration. Educated man not only are the youth voting for Obama, my husband and I are retired and in our sixities and the choice is clear, only Obama.
I'm sure this is going to do well for ticket sales with the upcoming REO Speedwagon and Styx tour he's on. I was considering buying a ticket to the concert, my only reservation was Nugent, but now, I'm definitely not going.
Does Nugent mean that he will shoot himself or shoot somebody with one of his many guns, if Obama gets re-elected?
If he shoots himself, good riddance!!!
Rommney's wimmpy response to a presidential death threat tells it all. If he cannot stand up to a has-been rocker, how in God's name could he face North Korea, China, Iran, Iraq, or any other country? Putin would kick his butt. Rommney is a wimp, just like his "brain-washed" father.
Ted Nugent represents the out of touch leadership of the NRA. Responsible gun owners will face a backlash from this out of touch leadership.
Stand your ground and armed to the teeth in your local Starbucks is an example of a lobbyist group at it's absolute worst.
The NRA has avoided the middle ground on gun issues and there is trouble brewing for all gun owners. Their extremist policies has jeopardized public safety and are not supported by your local police.
I want to thank Ted for making that all too obvious today. The NRA leadership and spokespersons are the fringe lunatics that that just endorsed the Republican candidate.
Sounds like a veiled threat to attack the POTUS - if Obama wins, Teddy will go after him ... unsuccessfully ... and end up either dead or in jail as a result.
It doesn't matter how many drugs Ted Nugent takes, he will never be cool.
Language matters!
Wow, Ted Nugent supports Romney. Oughta be worth at least 37 votes across the country. And Gene Simmons has thrown his tongue into the ring! Ever wonder why the Republicans have such meager & pathetic support among the real greats of the music and arts worlds? Perhaps their policies and candidates don't appeal to the higher & better natures of human beings. Just a thought.
Nugent's mistake was not in pointing out that Obama and his surrogates are America Hating Criminals – that much is true. He went wrong by giving the Marxists ammunition when he spoke of violence. Now, at some point, violence – as with our founders – could become necessary to preserve our rights but that time is not quite yet. Free people, "citizens", however, need to be aware of their obligation to protect and preserve our country from enemies within or without.
Just a thought, you don't have anything any sane person would want anyway so don't lose any sleep over this.
Just imagine how brain dead Nugent would be if he had been a drug user!

I have head over and over–the Liberals are going to take your guns away. My father had guns–my brothers have guns, my husband has guns. Never has anyone shown up at our respective doors to take these guns. When are they coming? Scare tactics for weak minded people is my guess. OBAMA/BIDEN 2012.
Notice this has been, used up rocker, also likes to talk about his next gig? Old talentless man who resorts to making over the top comments to get people into his little concerts. Parents... show your kids what happens when druggies grow old.
I vote for in jail. Wouldn't want to see him dead. But if jail, it's life.
were going to hold you to your promise teddy..a promise is a promise...cant wait to see it.
Stick to playing guitar Ted. You will never be known for your intellect !
Who is Ted Nugent anyway? He is a repulsive-looking old fart. At least in prison, he would get a thorough de-lousing.
Read about this moron on Wikipedia, he's a real outstanding citizen. Half his children were out of wedlock, didn't pay child support, involved with a 17 year old, yep, a real good Republican tea party supporter.
Wow, I thought Ted Nugent was already dead. He was a has-been 20 years ago!
@RetiredVet Oh really?!? Name one thing that Obama has done to abolish the 2nd admendment?
Chop off their heads = never worked a day in her life......yeah, that's about the same. I'm sure Romney will come out any day now and denounce this threat................waiting
Ted, you dead or in jail, that would be a wonderful Xmas gift! Can you take your co-conspirators with you?
That CNN picture makes you look like a varmit chewing on a black carrot, doing your right-handed rattlesnake thing. Crazy like I remember you. Dress up as a 45 bullet for Halloween, or whenever.
