Romney cites 'vast left wing conspiracy'

(CNN) – Speaking to a right wing radio host Tuesday, likely GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney repurposed a phrase from Hillary Clinton, citing a "vast left wing conspiracy" brewing in the media and liberal advocacy organizations to derail his campaign.

Romney was making an appearance on Breitbart TV and was asked by host Larry O'Connor whether he was ready to take on "the media and these nonprofits groups that are working together."

"There will be an effort by the quote vast left wing conspiracy to work together to put out their message and to attack me," Romney said in response. "They're going to do everything they can to divert from the message people care about, which is a growing economy that creates more jobs and rising incomes. That's what people care about."

Romney's choice of words echoes Clinton's assertion in 1998 that a "vast right wing conspiracy" was behind the sexual harassment charges her husband, former President Bill Clinton, was facing at the time.

"I mean, look at the very people who are involved in this – they have popped up in other settings," Clinton, now the U.S. secretary of state, said on NBC's "Today" in 1998. "This is – the great story here for anybody willing to find it and write about it and explain it is this vast right-wing conspiracy that has been conspiring against my husband since the day he announced for president."

Romney said dealing with journalists, many of whom he said were biased, was a perpetual problem for Republicans.

"Many in the media are inclined to do the president's bidding and I know that's an uphill battle we fight with the media generally," Romney said, before praising O'Connor for offering a conservative voice.

The candidate said he was unfazed by the prospect of doing battle with the left's vast operation.

"Democrats know that given the president's record over the last three years they cannot run on that record," Romney said. "They will make this race about anything but the president's record and the economy."

While not a Romney fan, he's not lying about the media being cheerleaders for Obama. Anyone that can't see that is either rather slow or blind. We'll see just how the media holds Obama's feet to the fire for the broken promises, the derailed economy, and the green scandals. Gonna be fun watchling this one.

The majority of the voters already know that the MSM supports Obama and will do anything to get him re-elected. Even if that means not reporting the facts about the president or his administartion.

Romney has shown perserverance, organization and discipline throughout a difficult primary and has earned his slot on the ballot. Obama is a managerial lightweight who has far more confidence in his abilities than is warranted. It'll be a relief to have a President who understands how to manage in the real world economy and who will appoint grownups to serve in his administration. Some of us are not happy about Obama's path to socialism and economic destruction.

"Democrats are happy to run on the President record"....... yeah, sure, if by" Democrat" you mean stoned, stupid and allergic to facts logic and common sense I mean, you REALLY want to run on record unemployment, sky high gas prices and home values dropping like a rock? You REALLY wanna run on record numbers of Americans on food stamps and public assistance? You REALLY want to run on bailouts for Wall Street and corporate welfare for the likes of Government Motors and Solyndra? All the clown prince in the White House has managed to do is spend five trillion dollars we don't have and blow it on ridiculous schemes that don't work.

Face facts Beverly: the TelePrompter in Chief is going down in flames like the tax fattened parasite he is. Only a drunk on the Kool Aid ObamaNazi like you fails to see that

I had some hope for Obama in 2008, but, he was unable to put his ideology down and focus on job creation. Instead, he blew his political capital on a health plan that he was able to get passed by offering deals (in the form of our tax dollars) to Ben Nelson and other politicians who were willing to go along in exchange for a little pork for their states. Now, Obama has a fight on his hands with Romney who will be more formidable than I think many want to admit. If he could persuade the People's Republic of Massachusetts to vote for him, he will make inroads with independents. I am not sure the edge Obama has with the editors of the NY Times and producers at NBC News is going to carry him over the finish line in 2012. Notwithstanding rosy reports from the media and the federal government about the economic recovery, there is no recovery underway. We are still in a recession.

No matter what your lefties say, he is right. The MSM is nothing more than a lap dog for the left. Do I need to say Dan Rather? All you have are insults. No matter what you think about the qualifications of Romney, Obama is nothing more than a hack or fraud, who has done nothing in his life to be qualified to be President. So regardless of how un-qualified you think he is, Obama is even less qualified, but your OK with that right? Can you say hypocrite???

How many members of the left wing media get jobs at Obama's White House? It's not a surprise to anyone with one eye open.

Mitt is exactly correct. It's almost hilarious to watch the "mainstream" media fall all over themselves to promote, protect and cover for obama and his thuggish administration. Led by CNN and MSNBC, there's nothing even subtle about the left-wing bias that passes for journalism from these sycophants in the media.

The debates might be interesting if the completely neutral media personalities don't leak the questions to the President. I mean, they are impartial, right?

It can't be a conspiracy when these clowns are so obviously in collusion with the White House, if not just the dems.
