(CNN) - Mitt Romney on Wednesday weighed in on two scandals dogging the Obama administration, saying if he were president he would "clean house" and replace certain personnel with those who put "interests of the nation ahead of personal play time."
Asked about the recent U.S. Secret Service controversy as well as the General Services Administration scandal, Romney said on Laura Ingraham's radio show that he would bring "people into leadership of these organizations that are obviously committed to living by the highest standard of integrity."

His comments come as more details become public about reports of Secret Service and U.S. military bringing prostitutes to their hotel rooms while on a trip with the president to Colombia last week.
"Obviously everyone is very, very disappointed in these stories, very uncharacteristic of the Service," Romney said in a separate radio interview with WTVN, a local station in Ohio. "And I think it will be dealt with in as aggressive a way as is possible given the requirements of the law."
Romney said he believes the right "corrective" action will be taken and remains confident in the Secret Service, an agency that has offered the candidate protection on the campaign trail since early February.
Also on Wednesday, the Senate will hold further hearings on the GSA spending scandal, marking the third day in a row Congressional lawmakers have questioned the agency's decision to host an $800,000 Las Vegas conference on the taxpayers' dime.
Romney described the unfolding controversy as an embarrassment for the president, though adding there will be bad actors "from time to time" in any large enterprise and that it's up to the leaders to set the right kind of example.

yeah Mitt and go ahead and blame it on Obama,,,,,you're pretty good at doing that.
The head of Secret Service has been there since 1984 (RAYGUN)
The employees of GSA are republican and democrat. GSA is NOT a part of the Executive Branch).
I think the civil service employees in Colorado that had coke-snortin' parties in their office were under Shrub. Why didn't we impeach Shrub then, as I'm sure he was their directt supervisor (NOT).
GET REAL!!
Tsk, tsk, Mr. Romney. Even hard liner Rep. Peter King (R-NY) said this scandal has nothing to do with the administration. But, since we know you like firing people, I am sure you would "clean house." Most people would not be so judgmental, and would at least wait for the results from preliminary investigations. But, hey. You like firing people who perform services for you.

Right talk from the Repubs that are always embrasing everyone. look at bachmann and Cain, gingrich!!
Romney would clean house and replace them with what? Eunuchs?
Blah, blah, blah... Just more demagogeury and lame, empty rhetoric from Romney. No surprise here.
Mr. Mitt Romney, so you want to POTUS. Please show us what kind of leader you want us to believe you are ... show us your tax statements for the past 10 years, and how much of the wealth that you skimmed off the top of the corporations, you plundered, has been sent over seas to secrete accounts. And also, what do you do with all that money in off shore accounts. Do you funnel it back into the US political system?
But he doesn't chime in on the hateful comments Ted Nugent made. Yeah, ok Mitt.
There is no question the Secret Service agents and military personnel should be punished for their behavior. However, would Mitt apply the same standard to Sen. Vitter who engaged in the same type of activity? Somehow, I doubt it!
since the head of the Secret Service is already doing a clean house is Romney micromanaging when he doesn't have to? Just can't keep his mouth shut for one second and think about what he is saying. What an egocentric fool.
Its amazing how these big money spending repubs can push their crap on others.
Romney was right because he would change different service.
Obama was right because he had excellent party for regain fun with our taxes.
Nice Try Romney ... Way to try and get the political advantage. Overall it won't work. The problem that Romney has is that the vast majority of people with the ability to use sober judgement and sound logical reasoning Got a real good look at him during the Republician debates. Rick Santorum completely exposed him as somebody that you do not want for representation. He was right; Given the two choices WE ARE BETTER OFF WITH OBAMMA. (I AM AN INDEPENDENT)
BEFORE you could "clean house" Willard – you would have to be president and BEFORE you become president – the American people deserve to see those tax returns. Now where are they?
This statement by Romney shows his lack of thinking and leadership: " saying if he were president he would "clean house" and replace certain personnel with those who put "interests of the nation ahead of personal play time."
That is a very emotional yet dangerous position to put the USA in. So lets say you "clean house" and "replace personnel" what does Romney think a fired secret service agent could do to US security? Wouldn't it be better to retain them, give them jobs with low security clearance and keep and eye on them? Your talking national security here not business where you "clean house" and replace fast food workers. This is a sign of Romney's poor logic, lack of understanding of national security, and business thinking as opposed to Commander in Chief.
Well that does it then... Mitt wants to "clean house" and replace certain personnel with those who put "interests of the nation ahead of personal play time." and .. "people into leadership of these organizations that are obviously committed to living by the highest standard of integrity."
That counts out any GOP political appointee's then. Not one GOP Congress member has put "interests of the nation ahead of" anything but getting rid of Obama.
A lame effort to sort of blame Obama, while knowing both situations are the realm of both parties and may have been happening years back. Perhaps we will find out.
Romney is about as likely to 'clean house' as his wife is.
as usual it took Mitt a few days to see which way the wind was blowing before he made his comments. And when he did they were dumb as usual. I hope if he becomes president he can make judgements quicker than this or maybe the koch brothers or norquist can coach him on what to say.
Sorry mittens-–clean house--come on. Clean house after the event happens--that is what is happening. Are you not going to trust anyone on your staff....
Could have happened even under your watch, Romney!!!!!!!!!!!! So you blame Obama for this-–you are dumber than I thought...............
give me a break...he's even blaming the secret service scandal on Obama....you don't really need to spin every single thing in the world to be Obama's fault. Some people catch on that it's just hot air.
What are you saying about Ted Nugents comments, Mr Romney-–Wouldn't you call this a threat to our President? Haven't heard anything on this from you.............Probably won't either.............I hope the Secret Service is all over this guy!!
Obama continues to appoint these radicals to government positions that we will read about in the coming months.
Yes, and Rom-money swears he will lower gas prices, lower taxes, make America respected again (after it was destroyed by his endorsers, the Bush crime family), walk on water, and then turn that water into wine. And nobody with a brain believes any of it.
