Washington (CNN) - Describing the billions of dollars in contracts and services handled by the General Services Administration as a den of temptation, senators from both parties called Wednesday for the agency at the center of a spending scandal to clean house as it roots out corruption.
"The party's over," declared Democratic Sen. Barbara Boxer of California, chairwoman of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, at the third congressional hearing in three days on the controversy that has embarrassed the Obama administration in an election year.

Fire em all Pres Obama-save us time and money.
I agree with Barbara Boxer for once. It doesn't really matter about the misconduct dating back decades under Republican and Democratic administrations but now is the time to clean it up. This is a perfect opportunity to clean the GSA up and make the agency leaner and more focused.
Amazing, just TRULY AMAZING, that EVERYTHING that happens in the Obama administration is just NOT THEIR PROBLEM!! Almost FOUR YEARS as President and Obama and the Democrats do nothing but blame others for things that happen on their watch. Democrats, ZERO accountability, ZERO responsibility, ZERO leadership.
Hmm. Maybe hire some combat vets to take their places?
"In the 39 months since Barack Obama took the oath of office as president of the United States, the federal government’s debt has increased by $5,027,761,476,484.56. That is $16,043.39 for every one of the 313,385,295 people the Census Bureau now estimates live in the United States."

But Barry, I thought you told us you were going to cut the debt in half in your first term? And yet, somehow the feeble-minded among us(i.e. democrats) will contort themselves into a knot trying to justify another of President Failure's follies.

Right on Micah – it DOESN'T matter that it's been going on for decades. However, if we didn't have a dem prez, the repub congress would have swept the whole matter under the rug, telling us to move along – there's nothing to see here. Thank God for President Obama – while he isn't to blame for these abuses that have gone on for decades, his very existence has prompted the repugs to work in the best interests of taxpayers! That in itself is reason to elect him for another four years!!!

The real answer is to fire OBAMA and save the COUNTRY!!
@Rickster – "But Barry, I thought you told us you were going to cut the debt in half in your first term? And yet, somehow the feeble-minded among us(i.e. democrats) will contort themselves into a knot trying to justify another of President Failure's follies."

Believe what you want, but Obama was probably not fully aware of the extent of the fiscal damage that 8 yrs of Bush did our economy. There are plenty of feeble-minded (i.e. Repugs) who believe that all should be back to normal in a matter of days because that's what they are told(led) by those who have a hidden agenda. The GOP has no platform, no candidate and no chance in Nov. You'll figure that out in Nov, no matter how much hate you spout here. The TRUTH often hurts. Do a little research bubba and you might edu-mucate yourself on some of the things you take a right wingut gospel.
"Sen. Barbara Boxer emphasized that the GSA has a history of misconduct dating back decades under Republican and Democratic administrations, and that it was a person appointed by President Barack Obama who uncovered the latest wrongdoing."
Inconvenient truth. Cue GOP/Teatrolls demeaning Boxer and rolling out talking points designed to make it sound like this was all and only Obama's fault from the get-go.
Malory Archer - However, if we didn't have a dem prez, the repub congress would have swept the whole matter under the rug, telling us to move along – there's nothing to see here.

You're more than a little out of touch on the subject. The Obama administration knew about this LAST JUNE and did NOTHING about it until the story went public. HE SWEPT IT UNDER THE RUG.
"Amazing, just TRULY AMAZING, that EVERYTHING that happens in the Obama administration is just NOT THEIR PROBLEM!!"
YEAH! AND THAT'S WHY THEY'RE TRYING TO CLEAN UP THE MESS...BECAUSE IT'S NOT THEIR PROBLEM?
Take notes: Boxer isn't on the administration, she spoke the truth that Obama's administration is the reason this was uncovered and you're just mad he deserves credit for appointing someone who is doing a good job by uncovering things like this...and desperate to drown out Obama getting due credit for a good apopintment with your talking points. Let go of your programming. You'll be ok without it...I promise.

You sound just like Mitt Romney. I don't hear any ideas or concrete solutions in there. All I hear is fear mongering. One thing is for sure. If Romney should win the election, no one can accuse him of not keeping campaign promises. He hasn't made any aside from defeating Pres. Obama.
Oh, oh, yeah. I almost forgot. He's been promising to "repeal and replace" the ACA. Replace it with what? Republicans have had over two years to come up with an alternative, and they still have nothing to show for it except hot air and loud noises. Reminds of a boys' high school locker room.
If they can cleanup the GSA why can't we as Americans clean out the House of do nothing Republicans.
It was absolutely indefensible for the GSA to act like they are a private company and spend 800k on nonsense. On the other hand, we are talking about a drop in the bucket of what is wrong with how our tax money is spent, starting with the cost of Congresional hearings that are just political grandstanding. Let's hope that the American people can see through this game and clean out those in Congress who do not have the future of this country as their primary focus.
