Romney fundraising pitch: Chance at a meal with Ann

(CNN) – She is her husband's not-so-secret weapon on the campaign trail, and now Mitt Romney's presidential bid is looking to raise some campaign cash by offering a meal with his wife, Ann.

A Tuesday fundraising email from the candidate asks supporters to donate, promising entry "for a chance to share a meal with my lovely wife."

The reelection campaign of President Barack Obama has traded food and face time for donations several times this cycle, including offering dinners with Obama alone and others including his wife, Michelle.

Romney himself marked the Massachusetts holiday of Patriots Day earlier this month by bringing supporters to a Red Sox baseball game.

The former Massachusetts governor raised $12.6 million for the primary in March, and ended the month with $10.1 million cash on hand.

Can Willard's campaign be original. Now he's stealing OFA's ideas. I'd prefer dinner with the President and George Clooney. By the way, who is cooking? Ann is a stay at home mom. I sure will like to know what culinary skills she picked up. Probabaly none. She had all of those nannies.

Knowing Willard, he probably has Seamus on the menu.

If she cooks it, then count me in. I want to see how well a mother of five can cook. She ought to be pretty good. Wouldn't you think? The simpler the meal, all the better.

Do we now get to refer to this guy as the "copy cat". My goodness....can't he think on his own? He constantly following Obama's lead. I guess that speaks volumes. What's that saying about copying being the biggest form of flattery?

Oh please. Who in their right mind would want a meal with a rich Mormon Stepford wife? Does that invitation come with a pledge to support the vampire/vulture capitalist Mittens? These people are acting like they know something the public doesn't. Mittens throwing victory parties and now this Stepford wife is acting like she is the first lady. Well you're not Mrs. out of touch Mittens, and if the Lord willing, you never will be.

    OBAMA 2012!

Thanks Ann but I have the dignity of working so I doubt we would have anything in common. I would rather dine with Clooney or Bo Obama for that matter.

Gag her and put a bag over her head.

Oh heck - just send me the check and I'll take my own family out to eat. Wouldn't waste my time on either one of those mormons.

What could I possibly have to say or have in common with this lady? This meal will probably cost more than some make in a year.

    Are you freakin' kidding?
    Who in the hell...?!

If you're going to play Follow the Leader Mittens , then follow the freakin' leader!
It goes like this: President Obama. First Lady of the United States. George Clooney. Great dinner with EXTREMELY popular and SOUGHT-AFTER personalities.
Where in that equation does your stay at home wife that's never held a job outside the house fit in?
Apples and bricks Mittens. You can't even copy correctly; are you sure SOMEONE ELSE didn't make you rich?

Can I pick the place? It will surely be a place serving booze and serving regular food. Stuck up Ann won't be getting her gourmet cuisine....On second thought. I'd rather starve than sit with either of them

I think the Romney campaign is a little off base on how much the general electorate likes his wife. It is a great act of subterfuge to pull his wife out just because he himself is so unpopular, but does anyone really want to have dinner with his wife?
