(CNN) – New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie on Monday said Romney "might be able to convince" him to serve as his No. 2 on the Republican presidential ticket.
"He might be able to convince me. He's a convincing guy, but I really love this job. I really want to stay in this job" Christie said during a high school visit in Plainsboro Township, New Jersey.

The popular Republican governor and early Romney backer said he is not interested in serving as vice president, but that he would be open to discussing the position with Romney.
"I really have no interest in being vice president, but if Governor Romney calls and asks me to sit down and talk to him about it, I'd listen because I think you owe the nominee of your party that level of respect and who knows what he's going to say," Christie said. "We'll wait and see."
After deciding against his own presidential bid in the fall, Christie said his temperament might prove difficult for the No. 2 role, something he reiterated on Monday.
"Do I really look like the vice presidential type?" Christie asked the group of students. "I don't think that's me."
Christie, who has gained a national reputation for his blunt talk and bold governing, is expected to campaign with Republican Gov. Scott Walker of Wisconsin, who is facing a recall election next month.
The two are scheduled to attend a luncheon and rally on Tuesday in the Badger State.

Gov. Christie, what exactly are your foreign policy credentials? If Christie is selected as Willard's running mate, all we have to do is tell him Bruce Springstein will open up on Atlantic City and he'll stay governor of NJ.
Dirk Diggler - Please leave NJ. You are ruining this state.

Let me guess.... a state union worker that worked for 20 years and now scrapes by on a six figure pension compliments of the taxpayers?
Christie is too much of a bully to be Vice President and can you see him walking up the steps of Air Force 2 he needs to look out for his health before taking on such a task. He is a ticking time bomb he needs to focus on himself and longevity with his family.
i think the governor would be a good choose because if need be he could step in and be president but im
voting for the president.
"Romney might convince me, Christie says"
Bribe him with a booklet of 25 Hometown Buffet coupons. Done deal.
Pinocchio and Jabba the Hut. What a duo. The GOP, a living comedy. Too rich.
Wiilard Rmoney needs a vp candidate that can win the go ole boys in the south. Chrisite is not the one.

Not everyone is enamored with Christie and his bullying. That may play in Jersey, but I doubt it'd play well in the midwest.
Bullying is a sign of intellectual weakness – Christie can't make his point with honest debate, so he resorts to berating people – even women which is doubly offensive. Was he raised in a barn? I think he's a pig – and that is not a statement on his girth, it's a comment on his offensive disposition. He's disrespectful, intellectually weak, and has no sense of common decency and civility.
Oh, no, if this pulsating, pulchritude of protoplasm is the VP, the jet fuel bill for AF 2 will increase by 5K an hour!
He's right. It's not him.
I can't imagine Romney and Christ Christie standing together side by side announcing: "we will repeal healthcare reform". The one who made it and the other one who needs it most!
Christie certainly has his faults; he's a bit of an obnoxious, loudmouthed bully. However, he does tend to be brutally honest and I can't imagine him serving under this totally disingenuous presumptive GOP nominee. It may be an accident due to the timing of the photograph above, but it looks like Christie can't even look Mitt in the eye as they shake hands. How could he respect such a serial liar, who is such a jerk that literally no one in the 2008 GOP primary field could stand him.
Great Image – the "FAT CAT" nominee and the FAT GOVERNOR. All it makes one think of his Romney sending American Workers looted pension funds off to the MORMON Temple, Swiss Banks and to Cayman Island Tax Havens, and the FAT GOVERNOR TAXING THE HEALTH CARE SYSTEM!
GO FOR IT!
Mr. 1% should guarantee that every overnight campaign stop will have a Golden Corral, and Christie is on board!
Christie as V.P. will destroy the chance of reducing the budget. The White House kitchen is open 24 hours a day. Any thing can be ordered at anytime. Christie will spend all his time in the bathroom eating non stop and and excreting at the same time. He will cause the water bill to skyrocket and the food bill will make it impossible for Romoney to have to forgo his war with Iran. China will never agree to loan us the money with the huge cost of feeding the eating machine and processing the waste that will be generated. As the machine grows bigger, the bathroom will have to be enlarged and the floor will have to be reenforced to handle the weight. Romoney will have to cut trillions to keep the machine running and teach him to use sign language unless he wants to stand in the bathroom and get covered with food flying out of Christies mouth when he talks. Romoney doesn't have the stomach for that. The odor and the food flying would be worse than cleaning Seamuse's "accident." N.J. will be the only state to benefit a financial windfall by cutting the food and water bill and implementing everything Christie cut.
Mitt finally caved and gave him the incentive he needs. Vouchers for all you can eat BBQ every Monday and Wednesday. That slob will not win even his own state, let alone the general election
