If Republicans are so up on getting Osama bin Laden now, why did they fail to do it for the 8 years Bush was in charge? Bush gave preferential treatment to the Saudis and the bin Ladens after 9/11, then gave up Afghanistan as a theater of battle for Iraq- which had absolutely nothing to do with 9/11.

You know, the more they talk about what they might have done, the more it reminds me just how useless the GOP has been!

Poor Mitt. No one believes him. LOL

Keep talking about Bin Laden. It only reminds people that Obama did in 3 years what Bush failed to do in 8 years.

What it actually takes to order a group of brave Americans into a dangerous situation is character and a love of our country. Mr. Romney has neither of these characteristics. He is a hateful and greedy man only interested in getting elected. I think he should review his own words related to finding and killing Osama before he says anything more. Mitt, Mr. I was for it before I was against it and vice versa!

This was the strangest press conference and Romney walked off and left the "Joker" standing there taking questions.

Hindsight is 20/20. Remember Romney's initial position back in 2007 about costing billions and moving mountains. He backed away from those remarks a few days later. Actually, he flip-flopped. But, the fact still remains that he made what was perceived at the time to be the *wrong* decision.

Romney has made plenty more *wong* decisions since that time, most recently with how he bungled the tax return issue and so far has failed to shut it down. He filed for an extension for goodness sakes. As if he didn't know tax day cometh on April 16. He' prolonged and postponed the issue until right before Election Day.

The question is not whether he would have ordered a hit on bin Laden. The question is whether he would have been focused on bin Laden at all. Romney said in 2007 that "It's not worth moving heaven and earth, spending billions of dollars just trying to catch one person." Tell that to the relatives of people who died on 9/11.

The question is not would he want OBL dead, but would he have taken the gamble? Officially there was a 50-50 chance OBL would be in the compound, although none of us knows what was actually in the estimates. There were dozens of things that could have gone wrong, and the political cost to both America and Obama would have been huge if they had. Obama literally bet his presidency and re-election on a toss-up in order to get OBL. W passed on a chance like that, even with better odds, at Tora Bora. With Romney, who knows? A man who changes his stance as often as he does is not someone likely to run a risk of that magnitude.

I seem to remember a former vice-president and his daughter trying to take credit for bin Laden's death while he was still fish food.

Rmoney is, to quote his GOBP cult, sad and pathetic. He needs to hide behind Ann's skirts for a while a chill while she continues to pretend to know something about average American women and families.

Yes, and pigs fly. He would have ordered it and then cancelled it and then ordered it again and cancelled it again..... spinning top this man. Romney=American Dream Killer.

Good old Mister lead-from-behind-like-a-well-oiled-weather vane. Nice to know Mitt has real courage. With "leaders" like him in charge, we're sure to regress back to the 1890s, the rightie's Golden Age of social strife, wealth disparity, and a Supreme Court that will make sure we have unfair and unequal access to the opportunities to raise your children in a middle-class setting. Thanks for the reassurance that you have a plan that you actually thought of, and was not forced onto you by even wealthier plutocrats than yourself. Amazing that this is what Fair, Truth and the others are forced to defend, a 1-term abject failure of a governor who was MIA the last 2 years of his job. Maybe the GOP will finally try to find someone who does not go looking for a new job every 2 years after Mittens loses, someone with an adult attention span, if there is anyone left in the GOP who can do that.

I saw an interview where President Carter not only said Romney would be a possibly GOOD POTUS but that he would support him as well. So what does Mitt do in return.....insult him with the remark he made yesterday. Wonder how Carter feels now about Romney? And just like always with this account he's saying what he thinks his supporters want to hear.

The conservative fanatical comments far outnumber the liberal ones. As for there being a four to one ratio of conservative to liberal posts, I have two theories. One: the conservative comments are so radical and over the top that 3/4 of them do not get posted. Two: the conservative claim that America is a "moderate-right' leaning country is pure ideological mythology, concocted to persuade people that extreme conservative views are more mainstream than what they are.

I guess it's a good thing that the republicans ended up getting romney the nomination, because if newt was the nominee, he would never make it. Although Newt would or could debate Obama much better than Romney, newt's got so much bad history & baggage, it's pathetic. I guess we may get a moderate in there, instead of a right winger. Either one of them, are Just about the same. Guess I will have to go w/ a Democratic Ticket, all the way – especially since I've got about 6 more years before I draw my social security. Hopefully Romney won't cut that.

Mittens now says he would, not what he said 2 years ago, he thought is was a waste of time and money, he only killed 3000 Americans, so Mitten would give a pass, it was only 3,000. Seems to be only one word for Mittens, LIAR!
