(CNN) - President Barack Obama's half-sister, Auma Obama, gave new details Wednesday night of the conversation she had with her brother after he won the 2008 presidential election.
"It was a moment of great pride," Ms. Obama. "What for me was even more important and more moving was the fact that so many people from so many different backgrounds within America, the diversity of America culturally, with different language backgrounds, they all were behind him."
(CNN) - Mitt Romney poked fun at President Barack Obama's new campaign slogan while speaking at a fundraiser on Wednesday.
Though he was attempting to mock the new motto, "Forward," which Team Obama rolled out in a video released Monday, Romney initially tripped up in trying to remember the word.

Washington (CNN) - Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum will meet privately on Friday morning in Pittsburgh, a source familiar with the meeting confirmed to CNN.
The campaigns had refused to discuss details of the get together and were trying to keep the location secret. They have planned no press coverage of the meeting.

(CNN) - Former presidential candidate Michele Bachmann will endorse Mitt Romney on Thursday, a Romney campaign official confirmed to CNN.
Bachmann is set to appear with the presumptive Republican presidential nominee at an event in Portsmouth, Virginia at 1:15 p.m.

(CNN) - Add Rep. Michele Bachmann and anti-tax crusader Grover Norquist to the growing list of national conservatives supporting Richard Mourdock in his quest to unseat Sen. Dick Lugar of Indiana.
On Twitter, Bachmann announced Wednesday her endorsement of the Indiana state treasurer, less than a week before Mourdock and Lugar face off in the Republican primary.

(CNN) – A foreign policy spokesman for the presidential campaign of Mitt Romney left his job in part because he was restricted from speaking publicly, a source with direct knowledge of the situation told CNN on Wednesday.
The source said Richard Grenell, who was hired to the Romney camp less than two weeks before his departure, was told on several occasions not to speak on the campaign's conference calls with reporters.

(CNN) – Newt Gingrich announced the suspension of his presidential campaign Wednesday in Virginia, a little less than a year after the former House speaker officially launched his White House bid.
"Today I am suspending the campaign but suspending the campaign does not mean suspending citizenship. Callista and I are committed to being active citizens," Gingrich said at an event in Arlington. "Now we're going to put down the roles of candidate and candidate's spouse and take up the role of active citizens."

(CNN) - A new poll released Wednesday indicates Republican Gov. Scott Walker is in a tight race with Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett, the likely Democratic challenger in Wisconsin's June 5 gubernatorial recall election.
While the Democratic primary takes place next week, the Marquette University Law School poll shows Barrett leading Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk by a wide margin of 38% to Falk's 21%.
