Perry: ‘God help us’ if Romney doesn’t win

(CNN) – If the voters who supported his presidential bid aren’t fired up to support Mitt Romney, the GOP had “better get a fire going,” Rick Perry said Thursday.

“God help us if he doesn’t win,” Perry said in an interview on Fox News.

The Republican Texas governor looked beyond differences that emerged on the campaign trail between himself and the former Massachusetts governor, including the financial industry bailout designed to keep “too big to fail” banks above water.

“I think he understands that too big to fail – and I’ve heard him say that on numerous occasions – is not appropriate, and that the economic models of supply and demand - they work,” Perry said.

The issue of bank bailouts made under the administration of President George W. Bush, however, may be a lasting difference between Perry and Romney. While Romney has said he opposed federal bailout of the auto industry – arguing in his “Let Detroit Go Bankrupt” op-ed that a process of managed bankruptcy would serve the company better – he said as recently as March that the financial industry bailout was a different matter.

“There was a different occurrence that happened at the end of President Bush’s term, and this was that there was a concern in the country that all of the banks were going to go out of business, that there was going to be a run on the banks,” Romney said in Arbutus, Maryland. Concerned with the stability of large banks, he said companies were prepared to pull millions of dollars from their accounts, and with that “there was a fear that the whole economic system of America would collapse.”

Perry had a different take on bailouts on Thursday. “Whether it’s Wall Street or motor companies, is bad public policy.”

When he withdrew from the presidential race after a disappointing finish in the Iowa caucuses, Perry threw his support to former U.S. House Speaker Newt Gingrich, who ended his own bid this week. As the nomination appeared increasingly to be going Romney’s way, Perry made a late April announcement that he would back Romney.

But should Romney not win in November, Perry may have yet another run up his sleeve. He said in February that the 2012 debates “could be” preparation for a White House run in 2016.

I already thanked God that you dropped out. I will thank God again if Romney doesn’t win.

Perry until you start thinking about those in need over the personal gains and material collections of the top 1% you don't have the right to mention gods name unless its an apology.

1.) Book of Matthew. Verily shall a rich man enter the gates of heaven. It is easier for a camel to fit through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the gates of heaven.

2.) Think of others before you think of self as the almighty will think and take care of you

3.) Help the needy and reach out and give aide

Where is the part in the bible about capitalism and how its the christian way? Where is the part in the bible where it states save your personal materials before you save a job or a means to survive? Where in the bible does it state live in excess and extort gods children for material and envious gains? Where does it state that if you do these things you are a christian? Moses healed for free. Jesus healed for free. Every profit god selected that was given powers to heal did so at no cost and asked for nothing in return. Republican on the other hand, think private industry should be able to squeeze the pockets thin of gods children. I am sorry Mr. Perry but you sir, have no right asking for gods help with your causes. Because your causes are always about abandoning those in need to save those with greed, Envy, Sloth and Material Items.

God helps those who help themselves. I guess Perry never got to that phrase in the bible. It was way past page 1.
    -----------------------------------------------------------–
I know Adolph Hitler used this phrase frequently – it is not in the Bible.

  4. vote the Tea Party OUT in 2012

only a "news" outlet like FoxNews would allow Rick Perry to take the Lord's name in vain the way he just did. Other REAL news channels would have called him out on it.

Yes, Rick, it's terrible that in the past 3 years we have gone from losing 600,000+ jobs per month to more than 2 years of positive job growth. How can we stand another 4 years of growing respect from the International community? Surely, veterans must be getting quite weary of all the additional health care they have received, especially for brain injuries. Veterans are surely disgusted with the job training, education, job placement assistance, and prevention of foreclosures. Ending the stop-loss policy must have been very disappointing to their families but I'm sure the GOP will give it back to them. Credit card companies and insurance companies might be forced to reinstated their predatory practices and what will they do with all that extra money – maybe have to give their executives bigger bonuses again! Well, one thing is for certain, Bin Laden still won't be alive to celebrate!

If the Rupulicans have all the answers then why are we in trouble. Fact number 1: Gas prices start going up 1n February 2004. Fact number 2: America went to war with the understanding that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction. Fact Number 3: We' were spending 10 billion dollara a month to find weapons of mass destruction. Bottom line! If you were making $39 an hour to put tires on vehicles rolling off an assembly line why didn't you save your money. Teachers who are responsible for educating our children only make half the amount with education....The good times are over boys and girls....Take the lowing paying job and work harder! There is no such thing as free lunch.
