Perry: ‘God help us’ if Romney doesn’t win

(CNN) – If the voters who supported his presidential bid aren’t fired up to support Mitt Romney, the GOP had “better get a fire going,” Rick Perry said Thursday.

“God help us if he doesn’t win,” Perry said in an interview on Fox News.

The Republican Texas governor looked beyond differences that emerged on the campaign trail between himself and the former Massachusetts governor, including the financial industry bailout designed to keep “too big to fail” banks above water.

“I think he understands that too big to fail – and I’ve heard him say that on numerous occasions – is not appropriate, and that the economic models of supply and demand - they work,” Perry said.

The issue of bank bailouts made under the administration of President George W. Bush, however, may be a lasting difference between Perry and Romney. While Romney has said he opposed federal bailout of the auto industry – arguing in his “Let Detroit Go Bankrupt” op-ed that a process of managed bankruptcy would serve the company better – he said as recently as March that the financial industry bailout was a different matter.

“There was a different occurrence that happened at the end of President Bush’s term, and this was that there was a concern in the country that all of the banks were going to go out of business, that there was going to be a run on the banks,” Romney said in Arbutus, Maryland. Concerned with the stability of large banks, he said companies were prepared to pull millions of dollars from their accounts, and with that “there was a fear that the whole economic system of America would collapse.”

Perry had a different take on bailouts on Thursday. “Whether it’s Wall Street or motor companies, is bad public policy.”

When he withdrew from the presidential race after a disappointing finish in the Iowa caucuses, Perry threw his support to former U.S. House Speaker Newt Gingrich, who ended his own bid this week. As the nomination appeared increasingly to be going Romney’s way, Perry made a late April announcement that he would back Romney.

But should Romney not win in November, Perry may have yet another run up his sleeve. He said in February that the 2012 debates “could be” preparation for a White House run in 2016.

If god helped the US[us]he would make Texas part of Mexico and this idiot Perry would become a street cleaner instead of a position that requires some logic and thinking.

The only difference between the bank bailouts (that Romney supported) and the bailout of GM and Chrysler (that Romney opposed) was the man in the oval office.

God help the rear brain thinking tea baggers of the GOP.
There is not one argument from the GOP that is not based on hate, fear, ignorance of facts or misinformation.
Perry was one of the biggest jokes of the GOP primary.

The politics of FEAR: casting Obama as the Devil incarnate...or Joe Stalin...whatever. The GOP has to appeal to faith because they can't point to any kind of record of good governance.

"God helped us with an Obama victory in 2008 and will again this November."

    This was worth re-posting.

CNN's idea of "news": 1. Watch an interview on republican FOX NEWS with an irrelevant republican stooge.
    2. Write an article on what you heard the aforementioned irrelevant republican toadie say.
    3. Take a coffee break and pat yourself on the back for breaking such an important story.

"Yes, and what's more ironic is that I distinctly remember Palin saying the night of the 2008 election that God would put the right person in office...well, she LOST!!!"

But she was still right for once.

I am God and I say you had better vote Obama because if not I will send ten plagues.

Their names are Perry, Bachmann, Romney, Palin, Santorum, Gingrich, Cain, Christie, and Bush. And that's only the first ten.

If you do not heed my words I will send Rush Limbaugh to live with you and talk nonstop to you 24/7....Better vote Obama.

Isn't this the idiot that was called by God to make his run for the presidency? I've only three things to say about Mr. Perry: 1. His campaign was a failure. 2. He's a bit of a nutcase. 3. Hmmm, Hah, Hmmm – oh well, you get the idea.

Being Perry has an inside track to God, I wonder why God did not make him the Republican candidate and soon to be president in 2012. Perry's endorsement of Romney is a travesty. After doing his best to tear him down now he says he will support his becoming president? Perry needs to reform himself but he obviously will not, cannot, do this. I am sure he will be asking God for his next endeavor. I suspect God has more important things to do than to listen to Perry.

God already made his point loud and clear when each of the candidates who kept brown-nosing God all lost. Maybe you were too busy demonizing the "out group" for you to have heard your own god's message.

All these poor folks that use hyperbole like 'yet they worship this man Obama' as if its a valid argument or statement of some kind.

Rick, is just a male version of, Sarah Palin. Like a cereal box, looks yummy on the outside but, is only half-full on the inside. When you shake it all you get is lots of noise. Not much for the money, even if it's vitamin fortified.

Is there someone out there actually still listening to Rick Perry? Didn't he pretty much prove he's brain dead, have to drop out of the race due to clear indications of his idiocy and leave Texas even more embarassed than it already was after giving us W?
