Ayotte: I’m more qualified than Obama

(CNN) - Republican Sen. Kelly Ayotte of New Hampshire, eyed as a possible running-mate pick for Mitt Romney, said on Sunday she was more qualified than Barack Obama was in 2008.

“I have, some would say, better experience than Barack Obama had when he was a senator, having been the chief law enforcement officer of my state, (then) to serve on the Senate Armed Services Committee,” Ayotte said on NBC’s “Meet The Press.”

Before winning her Senate seat in 2010, Ayotte served as the state’s attorney general for five years. She was a major surrogate for Romney on the campaign trail and has appeared with the former Massachusetts governor at several events during the primary season.

Ayotte said Sunday she was “honored” to be mentioned as a possible vice presidential candidate, but asserted her “focus is on serving New Hampshire.” She pointed instead to other potential contenders, namely Ohio Sen. Rob Portman and Florida Sen. Marco Rubio.

“There are so many good candidates,” she said.

When looking for a running mate, Ayotte added that Romney should consider not only the person’s geographic background, but their “qualifications and knowledge of the issues.”

Last week, former New Hampshire Gov. John Sununu, a Romney supporter, said Ayotte is a "strong candidate" but argued the fact that both she and Romney are from the Northeast could be a disadvantage.

I guess if our country was a military state she would be correct in having more experience than President Obama, but this is not a military or police state. There are a lot more issues at stake here. We are a large community that requires more experience than just that one. In the end your experience is limited at best.

The arrogance of Republicans is amazing. They seem to have no clue what the job of being President entails. It is 24/7 365 days a year with no real vacations. The world is literally on your shoulders. You are the person who must make decisions where no answer is a good one. It takes a real leader. It takes someone who is honorable, strong in values, integrity, character, and able to maintain the dignity and respect of the Office both here at home and with other nations. President Obama has proven he is more than qualified. He had enemies plotting against him in our own Congress obstructing every piece of legislation to restore our nation and help our People. I call it treason by the Republican Party. President Obama maintained his honor and dignity despite the racism, slander, and obstruction and still managed a record of success in everything he did. He has moved us forward and we need him to stay in office and be given a Democratic Majority so we can enact his solutions and help ALL Americans. Ayotte is a lightweight who has no clue what real leadership requires.

Yeah right! Law enforcement in New Hampshire!! However, she looks much more like a democrat. Honest, nice,
intelligent, positive. Not like most GOP women, mean, angry, panicking, corny, Maybe she should wake up and change

If she was more qualified than Obama in 2008 then she must be more qualified than Mitt Romney is today. Right now Ayotte is looking and sounding more qualified to say stupid, dumb things and that's because she's been Pal'in around and it's contagious.

Ayotte is just another arrogant, truth challenged republican apparently incapable of independent thought. We do not need another blabber mouth attach dog whose only onstinct is to tear down the other side. Field someone willing to work with all parties, or at least one that can understand that we don't care about prty affliation. Substance over rhetoric.
