(CNN) – Hillary Clinton laughed off the perpetual conversation over her appearance that landed in the spotlight once again Monday when a picture of her sporting glasses sans make-up made the rounds on the internet.
"I feel so relieved to be at the stage I'm at in my life right now," the secretary of state told CNN Foreign Affairs Correspondent Jill Dougherty in an interview. "Because you know if I want to wear my glasses I'm wearing my glasses. If I want to wear my hair back I'm pulling my hair back. You know at some point it's just not something that deserves a lot of time and attention."

"And if others want to worry about it, I let them do the worrying for a change," Clinton added.
Clinton appeared without makeup, except lipstick, wearing thick rimmed glasses during a recent news conference in Dhaka, Bangladesh as part of a trip to promote democracy abroad.
The image of the former New York senator with longer hair landed on The Drudge Report with the caption "Hillary Au Naturale." Clinton appeared throughout her presidential bid in 2008 with short hair and pants suits, often the subject of ridicule. Since assuming her top state department post, Clinton has varied her wardrobe and her light locks now hit at her shoulders.

I think it's a great look – polish it – and go forth!
she looks much younger this way.
Clinton laughs like a witch, looks like a witch, acts like a witch ... She an old tired, used up hag of a witch
I am a conservative woman..and for God's sake..I don't care if she wears makeup! What does it matter? I like to think that the time she would have spent applying eyeliner went into preparing for a meeting. What difference does make up MAKE to international relations? Grow up.
hillary can play whatever role...it still won't be enough to get her elected in 2012...or in 2016. She's done.
I think she looks great, certainly better than the school marm they tried last month. And I don't car for her politics or her personal choices. But I believe she is doing a better job than Obama.
Wait...I thought all these egalitarian journalists fought for equality for women...now, they are commenting on her makeup???
Geeze...liberal hypocrisy has no bounds !!!
Bravo Hillary, now if you decide to run again in 2016 you'll be able to focus on much more important things. For instance, you can work harder on your Southern accent... maybe take a few singing lessons... and most important of all, you wont be distracted if an unexpected landing in Bosnia forces you to run for cover.
Ugh she has makeup on....base, concealer, eyebrow pencil and lipstick...egads, she's natural because she doesn't have her makeup spray painted on? oh gawd, yeah pat her on the back for that...she's a total rebel to be lauded now. lol ggeeezzzz!!!!
still has the 'natural' blonde hair of a 72-year-old, so vanity still lurks. but is this really a news item.
I am not a fan of the left. But, I do think it is good for women to get away from all the make-up and phony images presented through advertising. As a man, I like it when I can see a woman for what she really looks like. I never thought this conservative would say this, but "you go, Hillary".
Yeeeeks! She's reverting back to her pre-First Lady days with the stringy hair, thick glasses, headbands, dumpy weird dress, and probably unshaven legs. This is really more the "real Hillary" than the cleaned-up version, and it goes better with the Progressive model.
As a conservative, I have to say I have more and more respect for this woman. Refreshing to see her keeping it real.
She is still a liar whatever she wears.
Next, she will be meeting with dignitaries by going bra-less. Ugh. Something has snapped with this woman (ie. photo last week of her partying down in Columbia).
Can you imagine her doing this if she had been elected President? Total embarrassment!
I would never vote for her, but I love her genuine delight in these photos!
I am glad she feels liberated. She doesn't need make up. I do feel she needs to brush her teeth, however.
Women at any age should feel able to go without makeup and wear their hair the way they want. Quit worrying about the way you look and be the person that you are.
Beauty is only skin deep, ugly goes all the way to the bone, and in Hillary's case the ulgy actually permeates not only the bones but the soul as well.
Need Hilary be reminded that she STILL represents the U S of A, so appearances DO matter. If she wants to go back to her hippy, unkempt, lazy-look, that's fine-AFTER she's out of the employ of the US Taxpayers.
Hopefully though, she is getting ready to civilian life & will keep her nose out of politics for the rest of her life.
She looks great without the make-up and with her natural appearance. Let's focus on the real issues in this country, the deficit, municipal, state and federal pension reform and the ticking time bomb of pension and health care liability for the government unions, securing Social Security for t hose of us who have paid in for decades only to be told by career politicians who are secure in their retirement and have life long premium health care that we have to work longer and wait, removing the people in Washington who do more harm than good, etc, etc. etc. and get over the fact that she is comfortable with who she is. She should be. I think she has done a great job representing this country as Secretary of State. Give her a break and look at the big picture for a change.
Yikes! No wonder old Bill strayed.
never thought I would agree with Mrs Clinton on anything as she and I are political polar opposites, but she is right – who cares? She is who she is. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I think she is an attractive woman, but I disagree with her politics. Her job is not to be a runway model and whether I agree with the policies she pursues for this administration is not going to depend on her looks, but rather the reasons she presents for these policies. Grow up reporters.
Hillary is Secretary of State representing the US in all foreign matters. There is no dignity or respect in appearing before other country's leaders as a frumpy old hag. The way she dresses is just pure laziness. I'm embarrased.
At least Condoleezza Rice had class the Clinton's have none
