Federal inmate's sizable West Virginia presidential vote tally

(CNN) – An incarcerated 53-year-old man is beating President Barack Obama in eight West Virginia counties following the state's Democratic Presidential Primary Tuesday, according to the latest figures from the West Virginia secretary of state.

Keith Judd, who is currently serving a 210-month sentence at a correctional facility in Texarkana, Texas for extortion, is trailing the president 42.28% to 57.72% in the state based on the unofficial vote totals, but is leading in eight counties.

Judd only needs 15% of the vote to qualify for at least one delegate at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina this summer, according to The Charleston Gazette. His expected release date is June 24, 2013, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons.

Obama has not had electoral success in West Virginia, a reliably red state in presidential politics. He was crushed by then-Sen. Hillary Clinton in the state's Democratic presidential primary in May 2008 by a 67% to 26% margin. And he lost the state to Sen. John McCain, the then-Republican presidential nominee, 56% to 43% in the November 2008 general election.

The Mountain State's Democratic Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin and junior Sen. Joe Manchin have also recently distanced themselves from the president ahead of their 2012 elections.

In Tuesday's election, presumptive GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney received nearly 70% of the vote, according to the latest unofficial figures, while former candidate Rick Santorum garnered over 12% support and Rep. Ron Paul captured just over 11% of the vote.

Well AnneBeth thanks for explaining the mentality of some of these people especially coming from someone who lives in W. Virginia. I know young people can't wait to leave that state unless it is ingrained in them by their parents. This is an embarrassment to have a federal inmate up against the President of the US where is morality.

People this is the 21st century technology is alive and well.

I enjoy the way you liberals make fun of people from the South like this. Hopefully Americans from North Carolina and South Carolina will take note.

Someone want to explain to me why prisoners in WV are able to run for office but they can't vote in an election once their are considered felons. Or does WV use their own banjo laws to make up the rules? Sen. Manchin might want to look into that unless he is counting on the felony votes come November.

Well, it looks like 42% of the Democrats in WV and 20% of the Democrats in North Carlina are racists if you go along with the looney leftist logic in this blog! Dang racist Democrats voting against the Messiah.

Contrary to popular belief, those who make the most noise noise complaining about Federal spending and the programs said spending support, are in fact the same people who collect those Federal dollars and who coincidentally don’t want to give up the programs.

States receiving the most federal funding per tax dollar paid:

    1. New Mexico: $2.63
    2. West Virginia: $2.57
    3. Mississippi: $2.47
    4. District of Colombia: $2.41
    5. Hawaii: $2.38
    6. Alabama: $2.03
    7. Alaska: $1.93
    8. Montana: $1.92
    9. South Carolina: $1.92
    10. Maine: $1.78

What did WV prove by electing a convict who probably is not eligible to go on the ballot, nothing but they are stupid morons that live on Federal funding while complaining about it.

Funny stuff, we see the true nature of Conservatives. They would vote for a felon over a Black man. And some of you will still vote for them. Have fun in Hell.

I'm a native of the Great State of West Virginia, and this news makes me sick. Makes me sick first as a WV native, and makes me sick as an American. How can a state that voted for very liberal Hillary Clinton (last primary), Robert Byrd, Jay Rockefeller vote for a prisoner over President Obama? Don't tell me it's all because of his energy policies, or health care. Could it be race???????? I'm a WV born and raised true Democrat that supports OBAMA in 2012!

To be honest, I never even knew there was somebody running against Obama until yesterday's primary–I guess West Virginians are so fed up with Obama that they'll vote for a convicted felon before voting for him.

Which simply confirms what we already know, that West Virginia is an inbred hillbilly state, on par with a third world country.

Liberals eating their own, as usual. It's not like this is the first state to make a protest vote against the candidate of their party who doesn't and has never really represented them. Obama is a one term worm. Wake up Democrats. Obama is using you. Hows that "hope and change" working for you now?

You're joking right? Obama has done nothing but pit one segment of America against another for 4 years. The great uniter has in fact been the great attacker and divider. Just like everything else he said, he was and did exactly the opposite. Obama is ht ebiggest con artist and liar to ever occupy the Oval Office.

I'm sure once Obama gets voted out there are some in the black community that will riot because leftists like the clowns in here have done nothing but paint the US as a racist Obama hating country. The truth is Americans detest being lied to and even more, detest incompetence. THAT is why Obama will be a one term president. He was nothing but an empty suit that gave a good teleprompter speech. He had NO solutions to the country's problems.

Duane – The cash for clunkers saved a lot of republican dealerships, and lowered our dependence on foreign oil. In return, the wealthy dealership owners will vote republican.

African-Americans play a pivotal role in the culture and history of West Virginia. Rooted in servitude, their brave efforts would help tame wilderness, build industry and create the only state born of the Civil War. European exploring parties first brought enslaved blacks to the Greenbrier and New River valleys of what was then Western Virginia in the
1780s. African-Americans helped white settlers stake claims as they moved up the New River and Big Sandy valleys toward the Ohio River. By the 1830s, the state’s rich natural resources and its emerging iron, coal and salt industries brought to the region nearly 20,000 African- Americans to work in these trades as slaves. But perhaps the most notable contributions of blacks to West Virginia history came in the years just before the state’s separation from Virginia during the Civil War and the dusty industrial years that followed...

Well, if this country was to be attacked by a foreign foe, rest assure they would succeed because we are now a country so divided by bigotry and racism! One nation under God? I don't think so? In God we trust? I don't thing so! Land of the free and home of the barve? I don't think so! A nation of the people, by the people, for the people? I don't think so! We have nothing to fear but fear itself? I don't think so! We're a nation of cowards! United we stand, devided we fall? No, more like united we fall, divided we stand! Yea, they're just words, nothings! Yea, just words!

WV will vote for the money launderer and tax evader over the president. It is almost as embarrassing as Mittens losing states to Santorum and Gingrich, and not getting over 40% in any of his early primaries.
