Federal inmate's sizable West Virginia presidential vote tally

(CNN) – An incarcerated 53-year-old man is beating President Barack Obama in eight West Virginia counties following the state's Democratic Presidential Primary Tuesday, according to the latest figures from the West Virginia secretary of state.

Keith Judd, who is currently serving a 210-month sentence at a correctional facility in Texarkana, Texas for extortion, is trailing the president 42.28% to 57.72% in the state based on the unofficial vote totals, but is leading in eight counties.

Judd only needs 15% of the vote to qualify for at least one delegate at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina this summer, according to The Charleston Gazette. His expected release date is June 24, 2013, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons.

Obama has not had electoral success in West Virginia, a reliably red state in presidential politics. He was crushed by then-Sen. Hillary Clinton in the state's Democratic presidential primary in May 2008 by a 67% to 26% margin. And he lost the state to Sen. John McCain, the then-Republican presidential nominee, 56% to 43% in the November 2008 general election.

The Mountain State's Democratic Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin and junior Sen. Joe Manchin have also recently distanced themselves from the president ahead of their 2012 elections.

In Tuesday's election, presumptive GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney received nearly 70% of the vote, according to the latest unofficial figures, while former candidate Rick Santorum garnered over 12% support and Rep. Ron Paul captured just over 11% of the vote.

  1. Obama 2012 - BEND Forward America, take another 4 long years of FAILURE

Lando - CNN is aligning with FOX in distorting news to get traction and attention....shame on you
Hilarious.... yes, how DARE CNN actually post a story that does not show they kneel at the Obama alter. Gotta love the leftists in here. If they don't own the media coverage 100% then it must be attacked, insulted and ultimately destroyed.

Please don't laugh & make disparaging remarks at the expence of W. Virginia! They are a red state who continually votes against their own interest & would rather vote in a criminal to insure their god given gun rights, than to bother w/some1 who might lift them up w/a little education! Education is, by the way, on the GOTP "cut & cap" list! They've already done it in my state! If they have their way all of this country will be like the state people are laughing at now!!

I'm not surprised. My late husband was from WV, and they are definitely not fans of african-americans. BTW, his brother was also his uncle (think about it). I don't what counties this inmate is ahead in, but I can guess.

Doesnt mean anything.........they didnt want PRESIDENT Obama during the 08 primary or the general election......and it just drives me up a freakin wall when I hear people try to convince others that there could be no possible way that there are people in america who are against the President for no other reason other that the fact that he is black.....get real people.....race has been an issue even before we officially became the United States of America and just as former Senator Bill Bradley said, until we are ready to seriously discuss the issue of race with people outside our own race then we can never truly bridge the racial divide that still exist in our country.

Envy and jealousy, bigotry and racism are some of the saddest traits human being have ever possessed! History will judge President Obama by one, what he inherited from the previous administration, two, the deliberate lack of support by conservatives who refuse to cross the isle and work with democrats to improve the economy and help the American people and three, by all the wonderful thinks this administration has accomplished inspite of the roadblocks, obstructionist tactics and distractions by the communists in congress and across this nation! And when all is said and done, President Obama will be considered the greatest President in US history!

If the race were between a fence post and Obamao, the fence post gets my vote.
    Obama will be out!
The Obama policies have been complete failures, at home and abroad. Obamacare will be overturned by the SC, Arizona will prevail and the Illegal Immigration law will stand. Holder will be found in contempt for his failure to cooperate in the Fast and Furious debacle and hopefully, serve prison time. We'll finally put the Iranians in their place. The tax and spend model will be no more. This country will not become a nation of entitlements. people will need to work if they want to succeed!

181 days to the end of the Obama regime!

Seeing that this was a PRIMARY with democrats and mostly minorities voting, I don't get where the racist claim comes from. That's a weak excuse. But hey, be delusional about it. Great way to get Romney elected

What a blatantly misleading and totally erroneous headline. So by this biased and twisted logic I guess McCain actually won the election in 2008 too huh? No wonder CNN with their recent Fox wannabe act is wallowing so low in the ratings. Wow! It's amazing how far a once respected news outlet has sunk.

This further illustrates how much trouble this nation is in. Talk about self destructive! We have a president who actually cares about the "little People" in this country. If it were fiction it would be funny how those who need are allowing themselves to be used to work against their own best interests.

If you are poor, surviving on government largess, which is small and shameful, and your greatest desire is to be hardworking, sucessful, and able to provide better for your children, who do you vote for?

The "party of the poor" whose best interest is served by as many people as possible being poor and on government assistance?

Or the "party of the rich" whose best interest is served by as many people as possible being sucessful and becoming rich?

I, for one, would vote for the party that wants me to be rich rather than the one that secretly wishes me to remain poor.

"Prisoner beats Obama"? Since when did CNN become a sensationalist tabloid rag? The message of this article is that some guy is conducting a relatively successful campaign against Obama from a prison cell. It seems like an interesting enough story without having to resort to an attention-grabbing headline that implies that the President was physically attacked by a convicted felon. I would expect to see this kind of pandering on Fox News or MSNBC, but I was under the impression that CNN had higher standards and more class. Maybe I was wrong.

Bush didn't run 4 years ago Einstein. A president is only allowed 2 terms. How ignorant to keep blaming Bush for the complete ineptitude of this White House occupier. With the left's mentality, why don't you just blame Washington for all of our problems? Unbelievable.

Well, it looks like it is going to be and it looks like we have an early vote for rmoney. Big surprise though, rmoney may lose in the lady vote and the hispanic vote, but I'm sure he will garner the majority of the dumb redneck vote.
