Same-sex decision may signal significant shift in Obama's strategy, analysts say

(CNN) - In the political fallout of President Barack Obama's shift to support same-sex marriage, analysts say the move may signal a remarkable change in his campaign's re-election strategy, one that no longer courts the moderate part of his Democratic base.

The president could see his steepest loss of support with more conservative Democrats or the so-called Reagan Democrats - those who are typically white, older and living in rural areas, said Ron Brownstein, CNN contributor and the National Journal's editorial director.

Conservative democrats were going to vote for the white guy, anyway. I do think there will be a change for more Obama support from the educated independents. As for the south, they prefer Mittens, a money launderer, who has a history of bullying gay young people.

Deflecting from the economy to this will only cost Obama more voters. He's proving once again that he can't deal with the big problem by making this his divisive issue.

If Reagan or any of the Bushes could have accomplished a fraction of the positive things that President Obama has accomplished in averting the republican near depression, right wingnuts would be demanding a new right wingnut face on Mt. Rushmore.

Lose the moderates and you lose the election. Won in 2008 because you were black. Lose in 2012 because you are stupid.

BEND – Normally I enjoy your idiocy, but even someone with your shortsightedness, should be aware that it is your party will carry the banner of racist and bigots with you attacks on Hispanics, Muslims, Arabs, gays, Blacks, the poor, seniors, college students, veterans, and workers. Look at who wrote the Arizona Papers republican legislation as a model for your red states.

Interesting how the race card is yet again played on this article.Democrats say they're against racial profiling yet support racial profiling when it comes to affirmative action.
