Public hearing scheduled on Secret Service prostitution scandal

(CNN) - The Senate Homeland Security Committee has scheduled a public hearing on the prostitution scandal involving U.S. military and Secret Service agents in Colombia.

The hearing will take place May 23, Sen. Joe Lieberman, the committee chairman, told CNN's "State of the Union."

    Can someone explain why the head of the secret service has escaped accountability for the scandal? Why is Holder responsible for a Bush era program that ran amok, yet in a much smaller organization where there's almost certainly interaction between their administration and field agents, this republican appointee is seen as a saint?

    I don't think anyone in the Secret Service is contesting the, "accusations". This happened. That's not the question. The question is how do we get Secret Service employees who understand the requirements of their job? There are plenty of qualified people who would love to work for the Secret Service. People who are able to represent America more responsibly.
