(CNN) - President Barack Obama touched on his recent announcement of support for same-sex marriage, saying at a New York City fundraising event Monday that he believes marriage equality "strengthens families."
"I want everyone treated fairly in this country. We have never gone wrong when we've extended rights and responsibilities to everybody," he said, drawing big applause. "That doesn't weaken families, that strengthens families."
FULL STORY
It is civil rights stuff. Equality clause stuff. Legal stuff. Nothing to do withreligion.
And just when you thought Obama had exhausted all of the areas where he could divide the country. Obama, the great divider: Rich against poor, white against black, white against hispanic, women against men, government against religion, government against individual rights, government against business, gay against straight, and on and on.
Divide, demonize, attack, conquer. what ever happened to Mr. There's Only One America???? Oh yeah, election speech lies and not to be believed.
The gay marriage thing is something that just needs to get The Federal Goverment to let people know is leagal and they are protected by the F.G.It is not a state thing at all. And it is a Civil right and a Human right. It's 2 adults and a CONTRACT, period. It's perfactly leagal and has NOT 1 thing to do with religion at all whatsoever. The thing that bothers some people is FEAR! and it's so silly.People need to stop with useing religion as a weapon and stop crusifying people like they're GOD. The way people act, it looks like religion is EVIL. STOP IT!
And the voter will have the final say on Nov, 6 2012, kiss Obama goodbye.
Why don't republicans want equality and justice for all?
