Obama campaign attacks Rove's 'B.S.'

(CNN) – President Barack Obama's deputy campaign manager used a three-minute web video Thursday to take on the latest ad from the independent group Crossroads GPS, point by point.

"Karl Rove's group Crossroads is spending $25 million from secret donors to tear down the president in a new ad," Stephanie Cutter said to open the spot. "Time to tear this thing apart."

The web video is the official counter from the Obama re-election campaign to the Crossroads commercial that claims the president has broken promises surrounding homeowners facing foreclosures, taxes, health care coverage and cutting the deficit.

On Wednesday, the Rove-backed group said it would spend $8 million to run the ad in ten battleground states between now and the end of May and is expected to spend $25 million to air the spot over the next four weeks.

But Cutter pushed back on the ad's four claims, saying the president's policies have helped 6 million homeowners with their mortgages, led to a drop in middle class taxes, enabled individuals to keep their current health care coverage as part of the federal law and that Obama enacted $1 trillion in spending cuts to help reduce the deficit.

Short clips of Romney are interspersed throughout the video to prove the policies of the presumptive Republican presidential candidate would roll back Obama's progress. Cutter then asks supporters to "call out" Rove.

"So another special interest attack ad, another set of outright distortions and another time when I need to ask you to do what you do best: get the president's back," she said. "Karl Rove is relying on you to do nothing to call out his B.S., and I know you'll prove him wrong."

Crossroads GPS is the sister organization to American Crossroads, which first became active in the 2010 mid-term elections as an independent super PAC supporting GOP causes and candidates. Its founders included Karl Rove, former deputy chief of staff to President George W. Bush and former Republican National Committee chairmen Mike Duncan and Ed Gillespie.

A Wesleyan Media Project study released earlier this month, which used data from Kantar Media/Campaign Media Analysis Group, indicated that Crossroads GPS is the biggest spender on general election ads so far, dishing out $12.6 million to run nearly 17,000 spots in 47 television markets.

- CNN's Paul Steinhauser and Jessica Yellin contributed to this report.

Rove is brilliant, evil, but brilliant. However. the best minds in media, sociology, behavioral economics, etc. are liberal/progressive. It's time to start playing hardball, give them a taste of their own swiftboat medicine. The truth is on our side, we just sell our narrative in a compelling way and expose the absurdity of their coalition of greed, God, and guns.

So, they want to try the Jeremiah Wright strategy again, eh?? It didn't work out so well for them last time. Just like Republicans to want to rape and burn this country in a scorched-earth mentality. Like the psycho boyfriend who tells his ex-girlfriend that if he can't have her nobody can – then, shoots her in the head.
Karl Rove, if I ever see you face-to-face, I'll be happy to tell you to your puffy face that you are a slimeball traitor. Jamie Dimon, of JPMorgan, you are a close second.

Interesting to me to hear the Carolinan view. Most of you seem to support the liar in chief and it is not Karl Rove. Why do you guys want to hasten the end of our republic by voting for a radical socialist such as Obama? Remember, even if Obama wins, congress will render him a 4 year long lame duck president, we cannot afford to waste another 4 years without decisive policy changes.

FACTS ARE STILL FACTS! Karl Rove didn't make any of those broken promises, they come out of the mouth of POTUS himself. Cut the deficit in half is an outright broken promise. For Stephanie to use the defense that Pres. Obama enacted $1 Trillion in cuts belies the fact that HIS SPENDING has added to the deficit nearly $5 TRILLION in 3 years. So his net broken promise was $4 trillion(far more then ANY other previous president). Karl Rove didn't spend that money on his friends POTUS did.

    $4 trillion

Rove has been full of it since he first worked for the Village Idiot, and the garbage continues unabated. But, that's just what Romney needs to go with his line of crap.

  8. Obama 2012 - BEND Forward America, take another 4 long years of FAILURE

Yeah, the leftist Democrats just can't take the truth and reality of their failures. They want desperately to convince the uniformed masses just how great everything is under the Dear Leader. Pay no attention to those 23 million unemployed. Pay no attention to our massive out of control spending and debt. Here, take these food stamps and live large.

Is there anyone out there that still has not realized that Karl Rove's soul has been sold to Satan? Probably not. The sad part is... too many don't care as long as he says out loud what they think.

Gotta feel a little sorry for Karl, he must feel like Gepetto did after he lost his little Pinoccio. He's searching high and low for some more pupetts.

If you follow the pathology of the creation of the Crossroads super PAC, it becomes obvious that it is nothing more, and nothing less, than an right wing elitist "club" whose only agenda is to crush the credibility of the current adminsitration and not an organization that wishes to further the better of anybody but themselves.

I pity those who are swayed by any message coming from that particular organization.

Karl Rove is nothing but a two-bit republican fraud! He wouldn't know the truth if it slapped him in the face because he is focused on spreading bulls**t to advance the GREEDY OLD PIGS! We have tried eleven years of Rove politics and it has brought the United States to the brink of bankruptcy. Do we really want more?

Karl Rove is THE dirty underbelly of American politics. That he gets as much air time as he gets speaks more to our media than his actual political accomplishments. It speaks volumes that CNN has so degraded itself to actually court Romney's type of dirty, nasty, vile campaign strategy.

And any media organization which airs the Rove/Romney filth as truth is as equally culpable as Rove/Romney are themselves in spreading GOP anger and hate most Americans are trying to overcome.

Frank is so right, and you notice how they react to female republicans and black republicans and then in their unabashed and unabated hypocrisy, accuse republicans of racism and anti feminism. Apparently the democrat liberals are only inclusive of dope addicts, welfare frauds and corrupt union thugs and since CNN is their favorite, perhaps that explains why the have reached their lowest demographics in 15 years.

frank didn't read a word...rove is telling lies, and the Democrats counter his lies with facts, not name calling him. rove knows it is better to go on ofense, lie and make the other side respond to your lies. So he is betting that offense is better than defense, and no one on earth is more offensive than rove.

You gotta be kidding?! An Obama smear campaign member calls out "the other side"? What else besides lies, racist comments, and divisive tactics does the Obama side EVER produce? They have some nerve to judge anyone! People really buy this Obama bull? Unbelievable! But, of course, we knew this is how the emperor with no clothes would be doing it AGAIN, didn't we?

Romney and Rove, what is the common denominator? Bush

Of course Romney's presidency would be exactly like Bush, and this further proves it.

    Another Disaster.........

Karl Rove always has facts? He sure does...HIS version of the facts. Because if you truly believe something long and hard enough, they become your facts. Karl Rove is a crafty man, but his own ego and bloated self worth clouds his version of our reality. Independents won't buy into his rhetoric, simply because he has too much history lying with his "facts", the largest being WMDs in Iraq.

Obama said he would cut the deficit in half. Not even close! Somebody should call Obama's hand.. CNN and the media won't do their job. Did Obama break his promise or not? Answer that question and stop regurgitating the Obama campaign's BS.

once again the democrats show their 'CLASS' - they can't seem to respond to anything negative without using cuss words, lies or personal attacks! they are the most 'CLASS-LESS' group of people anywhere today. we must get rid of this sleazy group before they destroy america as the proud, leader and strong principled nation we always have been!

It is not that the superpacs raise money. Of course the Democrats also have their big money raisers, Hollywood or wherever. The issue is the message they put out using the money. The Rove organization has done nothing for 10 years other than produce lie campaigns on behalf of the Republicans. When GWB was tongue-tied Karl Rove fed him the words. He is still at it.

Every time these rightwing nuts pop up we need to slap them down. Nail them with the truth. If they spent just a fraction of their money on the ecomony we would be better off. Amazing anyone would listen to them at all. Time to show them money can't buy votes. Rove should be in jail anyway. He is a traitor to this country. Obama 2012

Karl Rove's days ended with Bush, he's a has been. He did the same in 2008, it didn't work then and it won't work now because he doesn't bring anything new to the table and will again create the demise of Romney just like he did for McCain.
