Video: Rubio calls out Obama as divisive

(CNN) - Republican Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida said in an interview Thursday that President Barack Obama has become more divisive since 2008 and he's the cause of gridlock in Washington.

"This country has major problems. In 2008, irrespective of how you felt about the president's policies, we all hoped he'd be a uniter, he'd unite American politics and allow us to focus on the issues of the day even if we disagreed," Rubio said in an interview with CNN en Español anchor Juan Carlos Lopez.

"That Obama is long gone," Rubio continued. "The Obama that occupies the presidency is one who made the cold political calculation that the only way he can win is by pitting one groups of Americans against another. Convincing one group that their life isn't doing better because another is doing too well. This constant pitting of one group against another is divisive in a way we haven't seen by a president in modern political history."

LOL this is a joke. So I guess it's wrong to want income equality or for EVERYONE to be treated fairly. The GOP has had it in for Obama since he took the oath...they turn their backs and whistle at the sky when one of them make statements like the congressman from Colorado did about Obama not being an American at heart. They look the other way when Arizona tries to take him off the ballot. Republicans like you and Priebus need to look at your OWN party before you go calling the president divisive. Or is Rubio just mad because there is no way Romney will get Latino support no matter what he does.

Because Pres. Obama was elected with a huge mandate for bipartisan reform, which he has relentlessly pursued despite the unprecedented obstructionism of the Republicans, they accuse him of being divisive. This is typical Republican propaganda:

    1. Attack your opponents greatest strengths
    2. Accuse your oppponents of engaging in the exact misconduct/malfeasance that you are committing.

Thus, it can be stated categorically, REPUBLICANS LIE.

Time to pull out the Rosetta Stone to translate GOP/Teatroll code...

"Divider" = "Uppity" and "Refuses to simply submit."

First of all Marco is lying (again). Aside from that, I guess he must have been DEAF AND DUMB or maybe not old enough when Ronald Reagan was in office. When Mr. Voodoo Economics wasn't making a joke – he was insulting anyone who wasn't white or rich but I guess that's what made him a republican hero. At least our current president KNOWS first hand how insensitive it is to stomp on people less fortunate because he's been one of those and it HURTS. Marco should keep his mouth shut until he grows up.

Is it being divisive if someone looks out for all Americans, and not just wealthy? Rubio is as naive as Mittens and would make an excellent running mate this year. Rubio, like Mittens, was once a Mormon. I can see the bumper sticker, "Anchor Babies, 2012"

Didn't CNN post something YESTERDAY about how Rubio thought the bickering was out of hand?

"from the first pages of the GOP play book and now the GOP whines and cries claiming some one else behaves as badly as they do."

Yes, but you see, the prologue says quite clearly: "It's OK If You're A Republican."

Watch carefully now as the MSM runs with the carefully chosen misperceptions narrative Rubio is feeding them.

Who can forget the fact that at every available opportunity, the GOP has created crisis after crisis, all in a cynical attempt to kill his presidency? I seem to remember Sarah Palin remarking that certain parts of the county were more American than others: what does that say about the state of the GOP when they are guilty of the very thing they accuse the president off, and to a far greater degree? Mourdock has now stated openly that the new definition of bipartisanship will be the Democrats following the GOP: when the Democrats ahve led, they have put more GOP ideas into their legislation than their own ina na ttempt to be bipartisan: It has not helped them one iota. Rubio is the personification of the GOP: shallow, arrogant, hypocritical, inexperienced, and dogmatic, without any new ideas and even less inclination to actually solve problems.

More Florida hot air filling the Republican bubble. Senator Rubio needs to ask Republican Reps. Eric Cantor (Va.), Kevin McCarthy (Calif.), Paul Ryan (Wis.), Pete Sessions (Texas), Jeb Hensarling (Texas), Pete Hoekstra (Mich.) and Dan Lungren (Calif.), along with Republican Sens. Jim DeMint (S.C.), Jon Kyl (Ariz.), Tom Coburn (Okla.), John Ensign (Nev.) and Bob Corker (Tenn.) why they were plotting to commit sedition during the President's inaugural.
Has anyone heard of the Rubio Bill or the Rubio Amendment? It does not exist. Senator Rubio would have credibility if he would try to pass any piece of legislation out of a committee.

Rubio's idea of divisive is whenever anyone tries to actually speak the truth. For example, we all know that the income inequality has gotten even worse; Rubio thinks that if someone admits that fact and tries to address it, it is somehow divisive. We all know that tax breaks are geared to benefit wealthy folks and if someone admits that fact and tries to address it, this is somehow divisive in Rubio's eyes. We all know that legal minorities are afforded less opportunities and if someone admits this face and tries to address it, this is somehow divisive in Rubio's eyes. We all know that the first step to fixing a problem is to acknowledge that a problem exist. In Rubio's eyes everything is perfect, there is not income inequality, the tax code is fair, legal minorities are given the same opportunities as everyone else. Rubio, which country are you living in. Rubio needs to get out of the bubble he lives in.

Rubio has too much common sense to be president (or vice-). And Obama is divisive. And it is about race.

Unbelievable but Typical GOP strategy – Create a false ruse by blaming your opponent for doing exactly what your own party is doing. Use a non-white, cute, young and dim-whitted attack dog to soften the blow.

Rubio is right. Obama is playing the class warfare game, the race warfare game, even the gender warfare game. The most divisive president ever. The biggest evidence is the comments on these blogs. Both sides full of such vitriol for the other. None on either side coming to any sort of agreement or compromise with the other. My way or the highway.

Rubio is nothing more than a reactionary propagandist appealing to the lowest information voters. I'm getting sick of the Republicans demagoguery on every issue. They are becoming like a virus that evolves every time a new vaccine is used. The best thing to do would be to inject Republicanism with a major dose of penicillin.

This is coming from the party who stated from the beginning that they wanted the President (which would mean the country) to fail, who filibustred more than any other congress ever, who obstructed almost every job creation bill, who signed a "no tax" pledge to an unelected lobbiest, who almost caused the country to default last summer, who caused the credit rating to go down and who now has the hypocracy to call the Democrats divisive. WOW! Do they think the electorate has amnesia or is just plain stupid? Romney-Norquist 2012
