Video: Rubio calls out Obama as divisive

(CNN) - Republican Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida said in an interview Thursday that President Barack Obama has become more divisive since 2008 and he's the cause of gridlock in Washington.

"This country has major problems. In 2008, irrespective of how you felt about the president's policies, we all hoped he'd be a uniter, he'd unite American politics and allow us to focus on the issues of the day even if we disagreed," Rubio said in an interview with CNN en Español anchor Juan Carlos Lopez.

"That Obama is long gone," Rubio continued. "The Obama that occupies the presidency is one who made the cold political calculation that the only way he can win is by pitting one groups of Americans against another. Convincing one group that their life isn't doing better because another is doing too well. This constant pitting of one group against another is divisive in a way we haven't seen by a president in modern political history."

Rubio is a hypocrite, for failing to condemn the racism and bigotry within his own party. He's also a liar. Pretty sure Lincoln was the "most divisive President in history."

The more Rubio speaks the more clueless he sounds. Let's see....the GOP has attacked Muslims, Women, Gays, Latinos, and the working class 99%. Sorry if we aren't all old white christian males Rubio. Not being that doesn't make us divisive.

..Now which demographic suffered the most under the President’s divisiveness?
Was it the GOP’s definition of ‘Real Americans’ or the ‘Not Real Americans’
    ….again….much ado about Rubio…much ado about nothing…..
Rubio should concentrate on matters for which he is better qualified- instead of accusing the President of ‘divisiveness’…Like going to Walgreen’s and picking up a bottle of ‘Orange Glow Tanning Butter’ for his sensei, the Erection of the House, Boehner.

More proof that GOPers/Teatrolls are born without the gene required for sensing irony:

This entire "Obama is divisive" talking point is, in and of itself, INTENDED to be divisive.

I think this "he's divisive" campaign by conservatives is about as foul as you can get. Talk about gutter politics. He never once offers any proof of his statements.

To all of you out there cheering on this sort of divisive rhetoric, those of us who see this rant for what it is have noticed the complete lack of any discourse on actual issues. No plans for anything to benefit the common good. The message is simple, put us in charge and we'll take of everything. Don't you worry about a thing. Just help us get rid of this guy who is standing in our way.

Sounds a lot like something the Devil would say. Doesn't it?

Rubio is so full of Sh*#t. Was it not Republican Mitch McConnell who said his only job was to make sure Obama was a one term President. The Republicans surely don't think they can fool the American people with their do nothing congress. Both sides need to take some blame. Maybe they should all be replaced wqith people that are willing to do whats best for the country. When will Republicans admit that it was Bush who started to wars that has cost the country billions of dollars.

Nonsense! Rubio is just another blind hypocrite from the Party of "NO". Wake up Rubio and you'll see where the real problem lies. Its within your party.

Did anyone hear what General Powell had to say about this on Hannity? The General was having none of it – he said what could be more divisive then a group of republicans plotting against the President on his inauguration? Being non-cooperative since day one? HELLO!!!! For this clown to say the President is the cause of gridlock in Washington is a flat out, bold-faced lie. Why can't my fellow Floridians vote for people with a conscious? Governor Lurch and this fool! Does not make us look to bright.

    OBAMA/BIDEN/FIRST LADY MICHELLE 2012!!!!

I love how the republican party has decided to take issues that they are most guilty of and try pointing the finger of blame at the democrats. Lets start with the first verbal jab... Mitch McConnal announces the day after Obama is elected, that the republicans would not work with democrats but instead would look to make sure Obama was a one term president. Maybe Rubio is too naive to understand that those kind of words are divisive... and that the republicans lived up to the promise, and signed contracts with Norquist saying they would promise not to work with democrats.

Mr. Rubio, you really cannot help yourself. You have to toe the line. I did not hear a word from you condemning the racist attacks on candidate Obama or President Obama. He tolerated all that and gave aspeeach about uniting the country. He was the first person to give a national speech about the US not the red states and blue states as was orchestrated by Karl Rove and the Bush cronies. You did not say a word to your fellow republican congressman who called him a liar while he addressed the Joint House of Congress. You did not say a word to Mitch McConnell who declared before the President could get off the mark that his only job is to make sure Barack Obama is a one term president. Neither did you say aword last week when the Speaker of the House declared he would rather shut the government down rather than compromise. So say all that you want but intelligent people know that there has been a complete bias against this president even before he took office and a definite effort to have him fail. Let me say to you and everyone else....IT WILL NOT WORK. Your deeds are evil and God can see thru it. President Obama will be re-elected and all have you will have to crap on yourselves once more. 2008 was a shock to your system and 2012 will confirm the plan God has for His people.

Republican calling the President devicive? Isn't that the pot calling the kettle black? Republicans hate women, gays, immigrants, the poor and atheists, just to name a few. If you are not male, white, straight, rich and god fearing, you don't pass the "purity" test to be a Republican. BTW, it's OK to be a woman and a Republican if you give up the ability to think for yourself.

I can certainly see why CNN is a dying brand their viewer and readership dwindling down to nothing. The opinions and programming on the CNN news channel and website are only shared by a small few nincompoops far in the minority who are totally removed from actual reality and the ability to think for themselves and question what it is their so called leaders are telling them. You people on this comment board are the greatest gift the conservative leadership could possibly ask for. Do you realize how many of us middle roaders you are pushing to the right by your infantile comments?

Rubio wants to be the poster boy... the attack boy... the wonder kid... and all that is going to do is lead him to be the scape goat for the republicans. Republicans have a habit of using someone as a mouth piece and then once they have used them all up, they suddenly disown them. Rubia needs to enjoy the spotlight while he can, because in a few years he will just be another cuban wishing he hadn' been duped by the republican party. lol

Truer words were never spoken. Obama has spent the last 4 years dividing America (rich vs. poor; black vs. white: black vs. hispanic). It is no wonder that since Obama became president, racial attacks have risen and we now see flash mob violence.

Yes, they have risen because people like YOU who wear black and white glasses can't get over the fact we have a half black president (who is guarded heavily by secret service) and is not easily accessible – so they find anyone of color (see Trayvon Martin for starters) and take out their ignorance and frustration. What a loser you are.
